ImgBurn and File Order
ctdvd posted 2008 Sep 28 08:23
Hi:

I read some of the topics on file order (for audio/cd burns) and switched the Build setting to order by source directory which had no affect on the file order. I discovered that ImgBurn will write the file name to the CD but haven't been able to resolve the file order issue, any suggestions?

Thanks

Are you burning data or audio ?

For audio I use Prassi ONES, which lets you order the tracks as you please. For data the order will be alphabetical, and presented in the order your file viewer chooses.

I think what I'm after is when someone plays the CD and they press track 2, they get track 2 or if their player is capable of displaying titles, they are getting the correct title. ImgBurn seems pretty solid so I'd to stick with it but I also have Nero which orders it correctly but all you get are track numbers.

I don't understand the problem. The tracks will be burned in the order they appear in the file list after selection. If you want to change the order you have rename the files.

What are you REALLY burning here? A true audio CD that is playable in any CD player? Or an MP3 disc?

If you are burning an audio CD, it should just burn the songs in the order you put them in the selection. If it is a data disc (ie. a collection of MP3 songs) then alphabetical order may be enforced, in which case you may need to name them something like 01Song.MP3, 02Song.MP3 and so on. Just put a number in front of each song to get them in the order you want.
