| Hello,
i am looking for a digital video Camcorder. The Cam will mainly used for indoor recordings of not so big but mostly detailed items. So it is important to have a good quality and high sharpness in rooms with less light. I also want to take some macro shots with good quality. After the recording every video will be saved on my pc - so a DVD (HDD or SD-Card) based Storage would be great. (Also a USB-Port of course!) Hopefully you can imagine what i am looking for and give me some suggestions! :) (The Price is not so important - something from the upper middle class is okay i think...) And finally, how much megapixel are standard or how much am i used to have? Thanks you advance, Greetz |

What type of shooting will you be doing most of ? It sounds like you are wanting a good still image camera, probably a decent Digital SLR. The ideal megapixel size comes down to a number of factors, including what size prints you want to make. 5.1 - 6 is all you need for 8 x 10. If you want larger, go larger. Note that the megapixel count has a much lower affect on actual image quality than the quality of the optics. I have seen images taken with a 6 megapixel camera that had a 35mm CCD and a top quality lens, and these beat anything I have seen taken with a standard 8 megapixel camera. While manual settings are great, I would avoid having the camera do things like sharpening the image, as this is better done later in something like photoshop, where you have greater control and can try different things. When possible, I shoot in RAW mode so the camera does very little processing of the image. The images are much bigger (around 10MB each), but I can do what I want to them. |
