HTC Verizon XV6800 WM6 WMP10
TEXASGIANT posted 2008 Jul 18 22:59
There is so much good info here I have not found what I was looking for (please be kind I have used the search tool).
I have a verizon XV6800 (HTC) good unit, has some issues but I like it. Has WM6 and WMP mobile 10.

Problem is for instance the movie Gone With The Wind, captured from TV using media center on the desktop PC is a dvr-ms file that runs about 8gigs!
1. How best to shrink these files?
2. What should I convert them to for viewing on the PPC?
3. Should I save copies of the ones I want to put on the PPC and leave the rest alone or change all of my vids?
4. Should I replace WMP on my PPC with something else that has more codecs?
5. Will all this work for other videos wma, wmv, flv, ETC,ETC?
6. Will I need to keep WMP for music and pictures?
7. How cool would it be if what you recommend made viewing vids on the internet with the
PPC work without DLL of many other viewers.
That should about cover it. thanks gang.

I know that I covered alot of ground with that question but there is a ton of talent on here. I will keep looking but if someone could outline the best way to get my videos onto my PPC it sure would be nice.
WMP11 works well to sync stuff over to the device but I cant get very many 8gig files on it.

my personal opinion , get another 3rd party player, convert to mp4 with mpeg4 codec, or avi with mpeg4 codec

conversion software should leave your original file untouched making you a NEW reduced converted copy

320*240 other specs will vary
