how to record without pauses

mehrlicht posted 2009 Apr 09 15:10
Hi.
I bought a standalone DVD recorder with hard drive almost one year ago but never really put it to work as I wanted because it doesn't do want I need! I have many, many VHS tapes with clips and concerts and rare stuff that I want to pass to digital format (but without the aid of a computer). Due to the bad quality of many tapes the DVDR pauses the recording claiming not to receive any signal or because it senses it changes the format (PAL to NTSC or vice-versa which is not true). Once he complained of copyright protection which was also false but it was just that one time. So what can I do to overcome this problem. There should be a way to force the recorder to accept all incoming data either usable or not...
The recorder is a Philips DVDR3450H.
Thanks

You need a full frame time base corrector.

I would also think a good video filter (the type used to remove copy protection from DVDs) would work. The video filter would be much smaller and probably cheaper than a full fledged TBC.
Here's a link to a thread at AVS talking about a couple filters.
