| Hello all, I have just released a brand new guide on how to add subtitles to a DVD.
So here it is: ***************************************************************** Watch now the MOVIE TUTORIAL on How to Add Subtitles to a DVD using DVD-lab PRO ! ***************************************************************** DVD Subtitle Guide using DVD-lab PRO ***3 Steps Guide*** This guide brings new things, like support for SRT and SUB subtitles or SSA, SON and SST. And more easy on use by the beginers on DVD Authoring world. I must to thank all the users on my forum for supporting me and understanding me. Please join my forum for more support and if you need help, ofcourse ;-) Software used: 1. DVD Decrypter - (for demuxing video, audio, subtitles and chapters form the DVD) 2. DVD-lab PRO - (for multiplexing video, audio and subtitles) 3. Ifo Update - (for updating the original IFO fles, let them know about the new info in the VOB files) Create 3 folders on a partition with more then 20 Gb of free space. NTFS partition is needed for DVD movies over 4 Gb.
STEP 1 - DVD Decrypter a). Insert in the DVD-ROM the disc on which you want to add a subtitle. If you have an DVD Image on the HardDrive mount it first with Daemon Tools. Open DVD Decrypter, go to Tools menu and then press "Settings" and after that press "IFO Mode" tab and set the parameters like in the image below.
After you have set everything as in the image above, press OK and go to "Mode" menu and select "IFO I".In this moment the software will automatically choose the main film in order to demux it.
b). In the right side, press "Stream Processing " tab and check "Enable Stream Processing" and at the bottom of the window select "Demux" like in the image below.
Now select all the lines in the Stream Processing window, one by one, (ONLY THE ONES YOU WANT OR NEED) and select for each one the Demux option.
c). Select the files destination, in our case "Demuxed DVD" . Press the button
and the program will start its work. After it finishes, close DVD Decrypter. STEP 2 - Multiplexing video, audio and subtitles with DVD-lab PRO. a). Open DVD-lab PRO and on the window that appears select like in the image below, the option "Simple (Movie Only)". Don't forget to chose the NTSC or PAL option as is your original DVD movie and hit OK.
b). In the lower left part of the screen, in the big white section, right click and chose "Import..." and import one by one, your VIDEO file and AUDIO file(s).
c.) Right click one by one the each line in the big white section where you just imported the video and audio files, and chose "Insert to Project...".
The Video and Audio will be automaticaly inserted on the MOVIE 1 window (right upper part of the screen).
d). Right click on the Chapters section (right above the Video section) in the MOVIE 1 zone and go to Chapters->Import Chapters... A windows will appear, just hit "Proceed" button and the chapters will be imported automaticaly to the movie. (Hit OK to all the windows that appear).
e). Double click the Sub 1 line and a new window will appear. First you must chose the subtitle language...
Second you must click on the Import button and open the subtitle file (you have 5 formats to chose from: SUB, SRT, SSA, SON, SST).
Optional: 1. You can chose the font color (White or Yellow). 2. You can chose the font face. (I suggest using a Arial font face). 3. You can chose the font size. (I suggest using a 22 size font). 4. You can chose the font style. (I suggest using Thick Outline style).
If you have an NTSC disc I suggest to check the "From DF source" option for perfect syncronization. (You can do some test yourself and see if you have perfect syncronization).
You can view the changes in the Preview window ! After your are done hit the "Generate Subtitle Stream" button and wait for the process to finish...it will automaticaly return to the main window after it's done.
Now you can see your subtitle line added automaticaly. If you want a subtitle to appear automaticaly on the movie when you start the movie, just select the "Set this Subtitle always ON by default" option.
f). Go to "Project" -> Compile DVD...
In the window that will appear chose the path to the Final DVD folder and hit Start. Wait untill the whole process finishes. About 15-20 minutes on a AMD 2.0 Ghz machine with 512 DDR. STEP 3 - Update the original IFO files. a). Copy from the DVD-ROM in "Original DVD" folder all the files of the disc with DVD Decrypter in File Mode. -------------------------------------------- WARNING ! - Before moving the *.vob files over the original ones rename them (e g: let's suppose that on the original disc the movie is situated in the VTS_03_1.VOB, VTS_03_2.VOB, VTS_03_3.VOB etc... files . You will have to rename the VOB files from the "Final DVD" folder to their original names.) -------------------------------------------- b). Select the main movie *.VOB files from the "Final DVD" folder (ex " VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.V OB, VTS_01_3.VOB, VTS_01_4.VOB etc) that contain the movie, !ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE CORRECTLY RENAMED THEM!, and move them (Cut and Paste) in the "Original DVD" folder overwriting the old ones .
c). Open IfoUpdate and go to "Options" menu and select as in the image below.
d). Now you will have to insert the IFO files. - On "Original IFO Path" choose the corresponding IFO file from "Original DVD" folder (eg:if the movie is situated in the VTS_03_1.VOB, VTS_03_2.VOB, VTS_03_3.VOB etc files, you will have to open VTS_03_0.IFO in IfoUpdate) - On "Authored IFO Path" choose from "Final DVD" folder VTS_01_0.IFO file. - On "Backup IFO Path" choose where to save a backup of the original file just in case you make a mistake. Press "Update IFO" and 2 windows will appear and click OK. Now the new DVD with your prefered subtitle is ready for burning on a DVD±R/DVD±RW. Guide made by TheMatrix | ||||

| Good guide Matrix.
it works fine but only with ReJig. If i author with IFOEdit it sucks. It cuts off my movie (makes it shorter). I work on NTSC source but sometimes on PAL too. This can be IFOedit bug or what? Does anyone have the same problem like me? | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 02 21:05 | ||||
| DO NOT use Rejig to multiplex PAL DVD :!: and DO NOT use IfoEdit to multiplex NTSC DVD :!:
Use Rejig ONLY for NTSC DVD and IfoEdit ONLY for PAL DVD, like in the guide. Yes IfoEdit has a bug with NTSC DVD. And Rejig has the same bug with PAL DVD :D | ||||

| tarpot posted 2004 May 03 05:30 | ||||
| Can some tell me how you get the subtitles into subtitle workshop in the first place? I've looked around in the guides and this is not explained. What have I missed? Where do the subtitles come from?
Thanks-a-lot | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 03 07:31 | ||||
| For kinza2000 : YES ! If you follow this guide, the result will be exactly like the Original DVD that you want to add the extra subtitle (only the has an extra subtitle :D ).
------------------------------ For tarpot : Look for a guide ...on How to modify the subtitles with Subtitle Workshop. You will find subtitles on specific sites like (www.divxsubtitles.net, www.subtitles.cz). Mabey I will make a guide about how to modify and adjust subtitles with Subtitle Workshop :D ....but I think that there are some guides on the internet regarding that. | ||||

| Hi.
I´m trying to follow this guide, and I have 1 question: When I strip the full movie , i have 2 files called VTS_01_MENU_1.vob and VTS_02_MENU_1.vob, that i think it´s the MENU File. Following this guide, all the Original Menus are preserved?? If not, how can i insert new subtitles, but presenving the Original Menus?? Thankx | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 03 10:41 | ||||
| glauber_herbert : As I said to kinza2000, following this guide will preserved the original menus, YES ...you will have the original menus on the final result :!:
:!: I repeat :!: : FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE WILL RESULT IN A DVD WITH THE ORIGINAL MENUS, ORIGINAL EXTRAS, ORIGINAL MOVIE, ORIGINAL SUBTITLES and THE NEW SUBTITLE (in your language) YOU WILL ADD TO THE DISC ! About the VTS_01_MENU_1.vob and VTS_02_MENU_1.vob, what did you use to rip the original DVD ? I recomended in the guide DVD Shrink. Please give me some more details. | ||||
| glauber_herbert posted 2004 May 03 10:45 | ||||
| I use to rip the DVD Shrink, in file mode.
But this DVD is a DVD that i downloaded from internet. There´s some difference? Thanx in Advance | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 03 11:44 | ||||
| Can you give me a screenshot of the original DVD content ? (with all the files)....on e-mail. And I will try to help you...I didn't have that problem on any of the DVD I used. | ||||
| tkamin posted 2004 May 03 12:17 | ||||
| I was in the middle of writing the exact same guide!!!
only i play around a little more with the sub colors in supremap, and I've never encountered a bug with ntsc in ifoedit? have compiled several so far with no problems... ? | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 03 13:03 | ||||
| tkamin : This guide was made from 3 weeks ago, but in another language (as I said at the begining of the guide). And tested with succes by many users on other forums, and I wanted to give this guide to the whole world. Because there are many, many, many more guides on the internet about this subject, but none is working perfect.
About the IfoEdit with NTSC error, it's very good if you have no errors with it. In our tests, the result of the multiplex with IfoEdit for NTSC DVD was very bad, the movie is playing like this : 1 second play/1 second freez ...1 second play/1 second freez ...end so on...you can't wach it ! Mabey you finish the guide and post it, but will be no diference, if you use another program for multiplex, if the result is the same (I mean a PERFECT DVD) :D | ||||
| Gregg posted 2004 May 03 14:39 | ||||
| The guide is good and uses only free software. Personally I prefer Maestro - it's easier and faster. If you have it...
For this guide to be perfect however you need to add how to reauthor the subtitle language selection menu in order to include a selection for the new subtitles /although you can select them by pressing the Subtitles button on the remote/. Keep the good work going! | ||||
| panoplos posted 2004 May 04 01:55 | ||||
| I try following the guide but when I try to play the movie when I press to go in menu it stops. | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 04 07:43 | ||||
| Yes Gregg : that is the final logical step to a perfect DVD ! But, I don't know how to do that :( Mabey I will discover some time in the future, or someone else will make some guide about that :D
For panoplos and glauber_herbert : I will write you in the email, some technical problems regarding Finding Nemo DVD ! Many haved problems with it. | ||||

| TheMatrixx you made a good job. Very good and useful guide!
I tried another guide and your guide is the best! All done succesful! But I want to ask you something. I have the Out Of Time movie. The movie (1:45h) is in the VTS_02_0.vob till VTS_02_5.vob . When I ReAuthor the DVD, the files automaticlly renamed to VTS_01_0.vob till VTS_01_5.vob . Now when I am trying to play the DVD after I overwrite the new files to the origina RIP that I made with DVD-Shrink, It's not work because the new IFO and the new .vob's files are renamed ! What can I do to prevent this unlike rename ? Sorry about my English..I will be improve soon.. :wink: Thank you for your job and for your GREAT guide!!! BiGOFiR | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 05 11:27 | ||||
| Hi bigofir2, first I made the guide for me, for my movies :D , but just like you, I saw many guides about this subject on the Internet and none was good, no menus, no extras...and other errors.
And I wanted to share the guide with the world :D About your problem, looks like you are lucky :D , during tests on the guide I had an NTSC DVD and the movie was at VOB 9...(VTS_09_0.VOB). I didn't modified the guide for this, because there are so few DVD's like this, in most of them the movie starts from VTS_01_0.VOB. So, in this case you will have to replace in the guide VTS_01_0.VOB with your movie (VTS_02_0.VOB). Exemple : When you demux, you will open VTS_02_0.VOB, so after demux, when you multiplex you will have VTS_02_0.m2v...and so on...and at STEP 5 section c) when you make Vob Extras (ReAuthor) it should work fine, start with the last IFO and end with the first. Look at the progress of Vob Extras like in IMAGE 12, and see if the file name at Writing destination VOB is exactly like Reading source VOB file (LOOK AT ALL 5 VOB's !). Tell more details about the problem. And if you can it will be very good to make some screenshots, when you demux, multiplex, reauthor...and at Vob Extract. Please send them to email. (thematrix @ go.ro). Thank you for using the guide and tell your friends about it :D | ||||

| I found some subtitles in the internet. I open the file in Subtitle Workshop and I put the first time the first subtitle shown and the last and adjust the subs. But when I finish the importing and all like the guide the subtitles delay 4 seconds. In the Subtitle Workshop I can see that the subs is in the right time.
Whats wrong? | ||||

| The Matrixx, I want to ask you something... :!:
Like I said in this topic, I want to burn the Out Of Time movie. The movie length is 1 hour and 45 minutes. The movie is NTSC and when I Demux the movie I got .m2v movie file that his length is 1 hour and 11 minutes. The Demux process was done in VobEdit like in the wounderful guide that you create. Whats wrong? This is very big problem because the subtitle synchronized to 1:45 and not to 1:11 ! Please help me.. :x :x You are the BEST ! Thank you for all! BiGOFiR | ||||

| KeepWalking posted 2004 May 06 09:40 | ||||
| My question is about step 5 item a):
"a) We'll cut (move) from the "Final DVD" folder the .vob files that contain the movie (e.g. VTS_1_1.VOB, VTS_1_2.VOB, VTS_1_3.VOB, VTS_1_4.VOB etc) and paste them over the ones in the "Original DVD" folder. Then erase the .ifo and .bup files left in the "Final DVD" folder, so that is remains empty." The files generated by Ejig in the "Original DVD" folder are: VIDEO_TS.BUP VIDEO_TS.IFO VTS_01_0.BUP VTS_01_0.IFO VTS_01_0.VOB VTS_01_1.VOB VTS_01_2.VOB VTS_01_3.VOB What exactly the files that I need to replace in "dvd original folder"? Only the .vobs?? Only .vobs and vts_01_0.bub and .ifo? Everything include video_ts.bup and .ifo? | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 06 09:44 | ||||
| For bigofir2 : For your first problem, when you multiplex the movie that starts at VTS_02_0.VOB with IfoEdit...I found 2 hours ago a DVD just like yours (Jurassic Park 2), with movie at VTS_02_0.VOB 'till VTS_02_3.VOB...so the answer to your question is this :
------------------------------------------------ THIS IS FOR ALL WHO MAKE THIS GUIDE ! : A BUG in IfoEdit and Rejig when you multiplex a movie that starts at other VOB than VTS_01_0.VOB...like VTS_02_0.VOB or VTS_05_0.VOB...etc...after multiplex IfoEdit will change the name to VTS_01_0.VOB ! Simply you will rename the files exatly like the original files and continue with the guide ! The result will be OK ! ------------------------------------------------ I think this is not realy a bug, I think the author of IfoEdit made it like that, probably when the user renames the files like...video.m2v and audio.ac3...the result of multiplex will be automaticaly VTS_01_0.VOB. But for my guide this is a BUG ! :D For your second problem with the lenght of the movie, please see if you have more than 12Gb before you multiplex the movie ! ----------------- For joelson : Yes it works ! You will make your subtitle like in the guide (STEP 2) and you will rename it to VTS_01_0.20.VOB if your VOB movie files start from VTS_01_0.VOB. Try this and tell me if it works. | ||||
| KeepWalking posted 2004 May 06 09:54 | ||||
| My problem is similar to the one of the BiGOFiR, but still I have some doubts.
I will try to explain better what it happens: My film is in the VTS_04_0.vob archives till VTS_04_3.vob. When rejig mux the archives and saved they in folder "Final DVD" the program automatically rename it for VTS_01_0.vob till VTS_01_3.vob Can I rename for VTS_04_0.vob till VTS_04_3.vob before copies them for "Original DVD" folder? This goes to cause some problem later? | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 06 09:55 | ||||
| YES KeepWalking ONLY the VOB files of the movie. DO NOT REPLACE the IFO or BUP files.
You said "The files generated by Ejig in the "Original DVD" folder are:" ... look at STEP 4 - Multiplexing the files from STEP 3 .... "After that, you'll choose where you want it to save the final movie ("Final DVD" folder)" and look at the IMAGE 7 also, you will see that you have to put the result of the multiplex in Final DVD folder, and than at STEP 5 section a) you will take the VOB movie files (NOT IFO or BUP) and paste them into Original DVD folder, when ask if you want to replace hit YES ! | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 06 10:01 | ||||
| YES you can see my post for bigofir2's problem ! It looks like Rejig has the same problem of renaming the files.
:!: RENAME them before you replace it with the ones in the Original DVD folder :!: | ||||

What's up? I have 15GB of space.. It's not the reason of my problem.. I don't know why but my final length film is 1:11 and the original RIP is 1:45. Can you think about another reason for my problem ? Thank you! Your'e the BEST! :wink: | ||||

| Hi bigofir2, it's all gooood :D
Sorry I didn't see that your problem is at Demuxing in STEP 3. Damn :evil: isn't that nasty ? I will try to help you...first...look carefully in VobEdit...you will have to Open VTS_02_0.VOB file...second, look at the progress and see if it process all the files (VTS_02_1.VOB, VTS_02_2.VOB, VTS_02_3.VOB, VTS_02_4.VOB and VTS_02_5.VOB). Let me know what you did. | ||||

| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 06 13:07 | ||||

| Hi TheMatrixx !!
Yes! VobEdit Demux all the VOB's files (total 5 vob's)! Also when I open the m2v file in PowerDVD, It's all O.K, the whole movie shown..but the length of the movie still 1:11 and I don't see that the FPS changes..stay in 29.976.. B.RGRDS, BiGOFiR | ||||
| panoplos posted 2004 May 07 03:33 | ||||
| I have just demux Gothika and I put all together with Rejig. When I play it from PowerDvd the subs are not sychrinized and the sound is the sound of the menu or the commentary I thing. | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 07 08:52 | ||||
| bigofir2 : OK, did you finish the guide ? Mabey at the end the movie will be 1:45 (i doubt it)....try to sync. the subtitle at 1:11 than and see if it is OK. Do what I said to panplos with SubRip...rip one of the original subtitle of the movie and compare it with yours.
You say the whole movie shown ? This is very curious (try and look if it realy is the whole movie). I never stoped at .m2v file and look at it. I made the guide from the STEP 1 to STEP 6 without stoping anywhere. And I added 'till now subtitle in my language to 15 movies ! :D ----------------------------- panoplos : I know many of you have problems with sync. of the subtitle, but in STEP 2 I give some tips how to do that. I will give again some tips : This works for me !!! After you sync. the subtitle in Subtitle Workshop with my metod in STEP 2 (look when the first dialog appears in the movie, and note the time, and do the same with the last dialog of the movie), you insert the subtitle in Subtitle Workshop (don't forget the FPS) and hit CTRL+B...a new window will appear and there enter the first and the last time of the dialogs and hit Adjust. Save and close. Now rip a subtitle of the movie (let's say english) with SubRip (look for a guide on how to do that) and than compare the times of the ripped subtitle with the one that you sync. (look at the first time....last time...and in the middle of the subtitle at 2-3 different dialogs...if thay are the same you can do the next steps. Another method...when you sync, the subtitle, open Media Player Classic...and open the first VOB file of the movie, than when the movie starts go to File menu and than to Load Subtitle (CTRL+L) and load the subtitle, look if it is sync. ! About the sound...if you are not sure what are the sounds of the movie and in what order you have to enter them in Rejig or IfoEdit...played them after Demux (STEP 3) in Media Player Classic...after you wrote somewhere the sounds (exemple : VTS_01_0.80.ac3 - is english 5.1, VTS_01_0.81.ac3 - is english director's commentary...and so on !) you can do STEP 4 - Multiplex. A simple way is to enter the sounds in Rejig or IfoEdit when you multiplex by order (VTS_01_0.80.ac3, VTS_01_0.81.ac3, VTS_01_0.82.ac3 and so on...). --------------- I will try right now to look for your subtitles and sync. it for both of you. And send me your subtitles in email. I will sync. your subtitles and I will give you some extra tips & trick for the future. Because I will not always be here :( | ||||

| I rip the english sub from Big Fish to compare with mine. The last one start at 02:00:02,169 but when you see the movie it start at 01:59:52,000, is 10 second diferent.
I will like to ask you something in IFOEdit you can see the FPS of the movie. For example the Big Fish is NTSC 30 FPS. In Subtitle Workshop I have to choose the Input FPS and the FPS like the movie? The problem I have with Big Fish is that after 25 min until the end of the movie the subs start to shown 3-4 seconds before the voice. Thank you. | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 08 08:29 | ||||
| panoplos : I saw the subtitles and are different, they have to be the same. This time I will make it for you, and I will told you what I did to make them the same. In Subtitle Workshop you will have to choose Input FPS as is the subtitle you found...and FPS as is the movie....(exemple: Let's say you find a subtitle at 25 FPS, before you insert the subtitle in Subtitle Workshop you will put on Input FPS the value of 25, and after you load the subtitle you will put FPS at 30 (NOT Input FPS, OK?). And look at the times, if they are not corect hit CTRL+B and in the window that pop's up you insert the first and last time as it is in the original subtitle that you rip with SubRip from the DVD disc, and press Adjust !
If the time codes are not corect after you do that, try searching for another subtitle. And look carefully when it starts to delay ! If this isn't working either you will have to translate in Subtitle Workshop the english subtitle in greek step by step....it will take about 2 hours :( I did this to 3 of my movies, because the subtitle was OK at the begining for about 20 minutes, and then it starts to delay...and after 1 hour it's back to normal ...and at the end of movie is OK again....damn I hate when that happens :evil: | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 08 12:04 | ||||
| panoplos : I don't know if you recived the email, because it was returnd with Failure ! And I put the attach here !
See if it is ok, look at the screenshots. If it's not ok, then you will have to make a translation in Subtitle Workshop (the hard way) :( Open Subtitle Workshop Load the english subtitle, and then go to Edit > Translation > Translator mode and then go to File > Load > Translated and you will have to take each row at a time and see if it's OK....till the end of the subtitle :( | ||||

| Hi TheMatrixx !
What's up man? all good? Do You remember that my DVD (full movie 1:45m) is 5 VOB's ? Okay. Listen to this.. I Demux the movie to "Demux DVD". I got the m2v file (3.98GB), ac3 files(the English 5.1 Surround is 337MB), and sup files. I told you, I don't know what's going on with the m2v file..! The DVD original length is 1:45m and the m2v is 1:11m. both of them are 29.97FPS so something here wrong..! Maybe the ReJig skip on chapter.., but when I open the m2v file I see the MGM lion logo and in the end the end subtitles of the movie..! I didn't make something with it so I continue with the guide like u said and I ReAuthour the DVD. Now I got only 3 VOB's! (in the original RIP I have 5!)..I have two VOB's 0.99GB and the last one is 273MB . :x :x :cry: I didn't cut the new VOB's to the original rip like told in one step..I just want to test the ReJig output. When I open the VTS_02_0.IFO file with PowerDVD the movie began not from the start. I search the scene in the ORIGINAL RIP and the scense that seen in the begining of the ReAuthour DVD was in chapter 19 at 56:37m!! | Hi bigofir2 all good here,
ok I understand what's the problem, I will try to look for an answer to this. Until then I want you to try the guide with another DVD disc ! Ok ? And tell me if it's all good. :D Please let me know how many Gb you have after STEP 3 on your HDD. I know you said you have 15 Gb. But before you start to multiplex with Rejig you will need to have on your HDD at least 12 GB. DAMN :!: DO YOU HAVE NTFS OR FAT PARTITION ON YOUR HDD :?: I just saw the m2v file is 3.98 Gb, IT PROBABLY STOPED THERE CAUSE YOU HAVE FAT32 PARTITION ON YOUR HDD :!: | ||||
| bigofir2 posted 2004 May 08 15:44 | ||||
| Yes! I have FAT32 on my drive D: ..
Okay I understand.. I have Partition Magic 8.. I will use it now to convert it to NTFS :!: And yes I have 13 GB on my hard drive BEFORE multiplexing. Also I will try another movie.. Thanks for all and I will update you! :wink: Thank you! :wink: | ||||

| Hi TheMatrixx what's going on ?
I converted the file system to NTFS. I multiplexd the movie with ReJig and I got 3 Vob's files and there isn't the whole movie.. My DVDRiP is in C:\OUT_OF_TIME_SE in NTFS. MY Demuxed DVD is in D:\DVD\Demuxed DVD in NTFS. My Final DVD is in D:\DVD\Final DVD in NTFS. All the drivers are NTFS but the original DVD is in C:\ and the Demuxed DVD and the Final DVD are in drive D:\ . Thank you. | ||||

| Hi,
thank you for the guide. I just followed it to add Dutch subtitles to Kill Bill - Volume 1. I removed all subtitles (I don't speak Japanese of Korean :) ) and placed the Dutch subtitles as the first one (VTS_01_0.20.sup). When I finished everything, I found the chapters started at the wrong time. I.E. the chapter started just in the middle of a scene! I replaced the IFO- and BUP-file with the ones from the 'Original DVD'-folder and the chapters worked right again. Does anyone know what could be the cause of the wrong timings and how I can solve these problems (now I haven't finished step 5)? Another problem is when I play the movie on a stand-alone DVD player, the subtitles won't show up. When I play the DVD on my PC everything works just fine. What can be wrong with it? Does this have anything to do with step 5? I also changed the subtitle-colors (step 5b) right after saving the sup-file (step 2b). That way I didn't have to go through step 5b (and maybe 5c??). | ||||

| Hi again TheMatrixx !
I convert the drive partition to NTFS and the m2v file that I got is 3.98GB. I am going to trip for two days so I won't be here ;) . I think I leave this sucks movie!! All wrong! I will try another movie !! Thanks for all and if I have some questions, I hope you can answer me later. Thank you TheMatrixx! You're good man! | ||||

| Hi The Matrixx,
I have spotted a problem in the guide. In the colours section of Srt2Sup you use the colour black twice for background and outline, This will cause the outline to be transparent because of a bug in Srt2Sup. To prevent this set the background colour to say blue or red and this problem will not happen! Regards Srt2Sup | ||||

| Hi The Matrixx,
I will like to ask you about the final step that you import all the IFO files except the video_ts if is nessesary because I try without this step and the movie works fine. There is any reason for this step? And I notice when I do this step the mb of the movie are less. Thank you in advance. | ||||

| IMPORTANT: IF YOU WANT OUTLINE TO SUBTITLES, SET IN SRT2SUP, FISRT COLOR (BACKGROUND) TO BLUE OR RED :!:
---------- Hi bigofir2, I wait for you to get back and to try another movie. I really hope this one will work perfect for you :D . I'm sorry that movie won't work, I tryed my best to help you, but it seams to have some bug or something :( --------------------------- Hi maikel , as I understand you didn't finish the whole step 5 ? STEP 5 sections c) and section d) are the most important of the whole process. If you skip a step of the guide, the DVD-Video disc will have errors :!: IF YOU DON'T MAKE STEP 5 C) AND D) THE DVD DISC WILL PLAY WELL ON A PC PLAYER, BUT IT WILL HAVE ERRORS IN A STANDALONE PLAYER ! -------------------------- Hi str2sup, I was really looking to talk to you, well what do you know :D...thanks for the great software that you maked (SRT2SUP and SupRemap). I saw the problem :) ... but the subtitles look OK, because they are shown on the black space...bottom of the movie. (On my Standalone Player :D). I am wainting for a new version of SRT2SUP...mabey you can add some more colors (like the ones on the original DVD's) :D -------------------------- Hi panoplos, :!: YOU MUST DO THE STEP 5 (as I said to maikel) IF YOU WANT THE DVD-VIDEO DISC TO BE PLAYABLE IN A STANDALONE PLAYER AND IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE MENUS AND EXTRAS OF THE MOVIE :!: The mg are less...because you do a REAUTHOR of the disc ! And there in IMAGE 11 (in the guide) if you don't select something that you already have (like an audio track)...you will get less mb. ---------- I see that so far no one has managed to add a subtitle to a DVD without errors. :( I will be gone in a trip for a week, when I will be back...I will try to help the ones how have problems... on a chat program (IRC, MSN, YAHOO) :D ! I must learn you all how to do this whole process because it's our future ! | ||||

| Hi again,
the problem with step 5c and d is that after finishing the guide (including step 5c and d) my chapters start at the wrong point. They start in the middle of a scene. Is there anything I can do to correct that? I also found another topic about problems playing custom subtitles on standalone DVD-players. In that topic it's said that the error has something to do with the ripping using DVD Shrink. It sounds a bit odd to me, but who knows. :) I'm now in the middle of the whole process after ripping the DVD with CloneDVD2. I'll let you all know if it makes any difference. PS. Could you please explain what exactly happens in step 5c and d? It's not exactly clear to me. I just push some buttons and something happens. :) | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 10 21:27 | ||||
| In step 5 c) it's a ReAuthor of the entire disc, IfoEdit rewrite the IFO files of the DVD disc so everthing should be perfect (no errors on play).
In step 5 d), if you put the mouse over the Get VTS sectors button, you will see "Use this button right before you're going to burn a DVD-R. This will adjust all start sectors of all files". | ||||

| For joelson : Here are the results, you send me the duckpunk.mpg and I made it DVD with subtitle :D
How I did it ? 1). I loaded the file in TmpgEnc and made it DVD PAL 16:9 (m2v+wav). 2). I made the subtitle in SRT2SUP (function INS) (1 row at every 2 seconds) and I made it *.sup file (like in the guide). 3). I opened IfoEdit > DVD Author > Author New DVD and I load the *.m2v file (video), *.wav file (audio) and the *.sup file (subtitle). I did not make chapters, because at 30 seconds video it's stupid :D 4) After Multiplex I have the DVD-Video files (VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_0.BUP and VTS_01_1.VOB). I opened SupRemap and input the colors in VTS_01_0.IFO file (like in the guide). | ||||

I've compared the celltimes of my final movie with the ones from the original and they differ. I also found out that there's already a chapter-start-error after step 5a. But the chapters start at a different point as the final. Does anyone what the cause could be? And how to solve this? | ||||

Because the VOB's files should be like this VTS_01_1.vob till VTS_01_4.vob, and not like you said. Changing the sub colors with IFOEdit: :: First you have to know the original IFO colors.:: My colors: [10 80 80] black [10 80 80] black [EB 80 80] white [7D 80 80] gray ------------------------------------------------------------ Open the IFO with IFOEdit. Then double click on VTS_PGCITI in the upper window. VTS_PGC_1 appeared right below, click on it. In the lower window, right below a lot of "Sub-picture steam x Status", you'll see "Color 0 Y Cr Cb". Double click on it. In the edit window, you'll see: "00000000 00 00 00 ...". Click on the "00"(bold) pairs and fill with the Hex color informations from your colors or mine. Repeat for "Color 1 Y Cr Cb", "Color 2 Y Cr Cb" and "Color 3 Y Cr Cb". Click on "save", the default name is fine. You can say "yes" to the Bup question. | ||||

Whatever I do the inside color is transparent. Only for this movie, and I don't know why. The other problem I have in other movies sometimes the subs stop showing and I have to press the subs from the remote and then is ok for a while and after 5 minutes the subs disapear and I have to press the subs from the remote again. | Doh!
I found the cause of my problem with the incorrect chapter-starts. I used IfoEdit to author the new DVD because of some problems with ReJig. But IfoEdit isn't able to author the NTSC-format! (I thought you only had to use ReJig because of a bug in IfoEdit, but there's no bug, it's just not possible). Now I tried with ReJig and the capters were right, but some other thing was not (can't remember anymore). So I retried authoring the DVD using ReJig, but now it stops after a long time and I only have the file 'VTS_01_1.VOB' with a size of 58KB (and some IFO's) instead of 3 VOB's !! Is there a solution for this problem with ReJig? Or maybe some other easy-to-use tool? | ||||

I don't know if this is the problem, but the program just crush. :? Anyone there with this same problem? I think like you! I made NTSC movie and IFOEdit and ReJig create 3VOB's and the original DVD has 5VOB's . I download the new IFOEdit 0.96, and the movie work great, in my PC. I don't know jrosado I think like you that the IFO have all the info, but the IFO is just info. The subtitles are in the VOB's because the IFO is just 68KB in my case, and the sup files are 3MB! So the IFO has just the info. TheMatrixx in a trip now, so when he come back, I hope that he will answer this question. B.RGRDS, BiGOFiR | ||||

I finally got this to work ... but with IfoEdit 0.96. Subs are OK, perfect sync, no hic-ups......at least on PowerDVD. The runtime seems a little shorter now (the time showd in PowerDVD). I have 2 questions: 1.- Where in Ifo Edit can I look for original subtitle colors? 2.- Is this error in time produced by IfoEdit and NTSC? 3.- What If I just reauthore the DVD with 1 sound track, when it had 5 originaly (2 dummies)? Would it still work? | ||||

| Hi Matrix,
Your guide is very good, but unfortunatelly I have some issues that I hope you can help me with :-) I have DVD with subtitles for one language X, and I was trying to add two more languages (Y and Z) and remove original X And here are the problems 1) When I author new DVD (step 4) with IfoEdit 0.95 (and 0.96) for some reason, in newly creaded IFO file PGC_1 playback time is doubled but since we are discarding this IFO file it shouldn't be a problem, right ? by the way, I can play generated VOBs with PowerDVD, and subtitles looks excellent. 2) On the step 5c (image 11), IfoEdit shows only 1 subpicture - for language X, that was in original DVD. So, when all files are created in "Final DVD" folder, I'm getting only 1 subpicture (language Z) that replaced "X", but "Y" is absent !!! What I'm doing wrong ? Thanks in advance. | ||||
| LioCraft posted 2004 May 17 17:19 | ||||
| Just if someone ever had the same problem with ReJig .... It doesn't work if you use dummie sound track between real ones.
In my case, it was: - 0: English AC3 - 1: French AC3 (Feak) - 2: German (Feack) - 3: English Director's Cut - 4: English Alternate Director's Cut What I did was mux everithing but the feak tracks (1 & 2), and then change the info of tracks 1 and 2 with the exact same info than tracks 3 & 4. After that, I redirected butons for audio selection, changing track 4 with 2, and 3 with 1. Finally, I delete playback of tracks 3 & 4. This way, there is not a single clue of 5 audios in the DVD. Sorry if it is not clear, but today my english is worst than ever. Cheers, | ||||

| Well, I'm back ! :D
Hi everybody, I will be online from today, so who wants can give me their Yahoo Messenger ID and will talk there problmes regarding the DVD subtitles. ---------------------- Hi bigofir2 : I'm very happy that you did your DVD with subtitles in your language. I hope to help others in here ho have problems. :D ---------------------- For jrosado : NO :!: If you do that you will have no info in the IFO files about the Menus of the DVD and other extras. In the IFO files from FINAL DVD folder you have info only about the movie that you multiplexed at STEP 4. ---------------------- For yurykk : 1. Yes, and I know about PowerDVD. | 2. You aren't doing anything wrong. The old IFO dosen't have info about 2 subtitles. So in that case, you will have to add one manualy with IfoEdit. I will make a guide about that soon. ---------------------- | ||||
| yurykk posted 2004 May 18 01:47 | ||||
| Thanks Matrix, I'll try that.
Another small question - IfoEDIT reports that subpicture for some languages have several ID's - 0x21 and 0x20 (just like on your screenshot). VobEdit extracts 2 .sup files for these subpictures. When I'm trying to reauthor DVD and add both of them in IfoEdit, it stops somewhere after 50% with error "too many frame drops". It looks like each .sup file contains subtitles for part of the movie, but IfoEDIT trying to add them as separate subtitles for different languages (I think). Any ideas ? Thanks, Yuri | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 18 15:31 | ||||
| Yes yurykk I know, that's why I said that I don't no if it works...I saw that has 2 ID's (0x21 and 0x20) :(
It happend to me that "too many frame drops" error, but I closed the program give a restart to the PC and after that everything was ok. All this software we use has many bugs. That's why they are free I guess, but we don't have choice. Try that, and let me know if it works :D | ||||
| yurykk posted 2004 May 18 21:18 | ||||
Well, it's not. I took another DVD with several subtitles and - after demuxing, IfoEDIT can't remux the files back (without any changes - just the same files). This is definitely because of subtitles. If I'm trying to remove some of subtitles, it helps. Strange. | ||||

The same disc inserted again in my computer, and subs are in Spanish...so I really can't get it. The only different thing that I did was changing the type of the sub in IfoEdit (double click and changed English with Spanish). I did this in VIDEO_TS.IFO and VTS_02_0.IFO (where the movie is). | LioCraft DON'T do anymore changes after you finish the guide. Do it again, without the changes, when you will insert the DVD disc in your Standalone player and push the subtitle button when the movie starts, if you just replaced the english one, and you have no other subtitle, you will see on display SUBTITLE 1/1 ENGLISH, but it will be the SPANISH one. I hope that before step 4 b) (the multiplex), you replace the original *.SUP file that you get it at step 3 c), like it says in step 3 d).

| Hi all, have read and tried this guide but have not succeeded. So need your advise.
Each time i get stuck on step 5C; stripping the IFO's works for all except the one with the movie. Ifoedit just crashes each time with no error report what so ever. Here is the deal; The source is a NTSC movie, the srt file is converted as a NTSC sup. Demuxing the files is working oke and the files are muxed together again with Rejig as this is a NTSC movie. Making a DVD at this point with the newly selectable subtitles works fine so nothing wrong there. As my goal is to keep the menus and extras i proceed with step 5 and meet with the problem described previously. I have tried to investigate the problem and the following come to mind. The origal movie has e.g. 5 vob files (VTS_02_0 untill _02_4), when demuxing it looks like the first file (VTS_02_0) is skipped and i come up one vob file to short when muxing and replacing the files in the original dvd folder. I solve this by renaming the files in the same order as the orignal dvd but that didn't help. Once again, everything works fine untill i get to step 5C and Ifoedit crashes at the start of stripping the movie IFO file. This happened to me with 3 different movies now. I have carefully studied bigofir2's problem but didn't find any solution there. Has anyone encountered this problem and/or have a solution or work around for this. | ||||

| Hi TheMatrixx and to all the users!
I read all the posts in this topic and I realized that many of the problems are like mine. So, for the users that have less VOB's from the ORIGINAL DVD after Multiplexing, go to http://www.ifoedit.com and download the last version of IfoEdit 0.96. In my case I have NTSC that his length is 1:45m (!) (Out Of Time if you want to know!) and I Demux with VOBEdit and multiplex with IfoEdit 0.96 . The final result was movie with my subtitles language, but the final length is 1:31, 14 minutes are gone! but when I'm rolling to the end I saw the credits and all that stuff, but of course, the subtitle isn't synchronized! :x (I know that TheMatrixx said to use ReJig with NTSC but, I got less VOB's from the original movie so I use IFOEdit 0.95 and I have the same problem and I downloaded the new version of IFOEdit and I got improved result. -------------------------------- Finally, we all know that all this fucking problems are because of these programs that are FREE OF CHARGE and not made by big companys like ROXIO,AHEAD or something like that! I think that some companys will release software that cost some money and we won't spend time for this problems in the near futre, I hope so. :wink: In my opinion if you want to see a movie and to enjoy from it, Author a DVD from DVDRiP and download Subtitles that synchronized for this version. Make your Menu with Ulead Movie Factory or softwares like that, and also DVDRiPs have AC3 sound! So do what you think. 8) Thanks, BiGOFiR | ||||

| Hey TheMatrixx,
I tried everything again, right from thr begining, no changes, multiplexing with ReJig and IfoEdit....always the same result...perfect DVD with new subs on computer / almost unreadable (vibrations and unfocused characters) original subs on Stand Alone DVD. I will try another movie, but it's kind of strange that you have succesfuly done 15 or so movies and here we all have problems.....are you sure that everything is reflected on the guide? Thx | ||||

Hi: I may be wrong, but i think the VTS_01_0.IFO has info on the movie itself and not the menus. It's also this ifo file that has info aboute the subtitles of the movie. The VIDEO_TS.IFO it's the one that has info on the menus. If we have a movie without subtitles and if we replace the new VTS_01_0.IFO with the old one, there will be no info on the subtiltes and it will not work! I'm adding subtitles to a movie now (that has no subtitles at all). I will try the way i'm thinking and the will post back to say if it worked. Regards, J. Rosado | ||||

| Hi:
Well, i tryed, bt Power DVD did not like it. But i use the original ifo file, my dvd player will not see the subtitles :(. I guess i'm going to choose to loose the menus. I'm also having another problem i did not had the first time: My subtitles are out of sync by aproximate 1 second. I allready tryed to correct the .srt file and the sup, but it's the same. They keep appearing out of sync by about 1 sec. Any ideas why? Regards, J. Rosado | ||||

| Hi LioCraft, this are the DVD's that I made till now.
Kiss of the Dragon - NTSC (source DVD not original) Hollow Man - PAL (source DVD original) The One - PAL (source DVD original) Charlie's Angels - PAL (source DVD original) The Saint - PAL (this is the only one where the movie gets cut at 58 minutes, because it uses 2 VOBids, so I burned the content of the Original DVD folder, after I did a Get VTS sectors to the IFO files. I've stoped at step 5 section c) - (source DVD original) The Mummy Returns - PAL (source DVD original) Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World - PAL (source DVD original) Thir13en Ghosts - PAL (source DVD original) Tomb Raider - NTSC (source DVD not original) Resident Evil - NTSC (I cut the menus, this one didn't work at all with the menus, the source DVD was not original !) Mission Impossible 2 - PAL (source DVD not original) Con Air - NTSC (source DVD not original) Blade 2 - NTSC (source DVD not original) Star Wars Episode 2 - NTSC (source DVD not original) The Mummy - NTSC (source DVD was not original and it didn't have any menus at all !) I think they are all. I will look again on the Guide and if I found something wrong I will post here. And as you see, I didn't have sync problems (because I know how to sync them), or no subtitle on the movie problems. P.S. : and I also put subtitle to 3 DVD's made from AVI, created with TMPGEnc DVD Author. | ||||

| Hi:
well i done it, but since the original movie did not had any subtitles, i had to use the IFO files from the Final dvd and to stay only with the movie (no menus). But anyway, since we got the original and the idea is to see the movie with subtitles, what's the point in having menus? Regards, J. Rosado | ||||

| I'm still busy trying to put Dutch subtitles on Kill Bill.
I thought the out-of-sync-problem was due to using IfoEdit to author while it was a NTSC-DVD, but ReJig quits all the time! It says it's multiplexing, but when the progress-bar is full it starts over again with the next process, but then it quits and I end up with a VOB-file of 58kB. After a lot of trying with ReJig I tried IfoEdit again and I noticed that, after the reauthoring process, the VTS_01_0.ifo is different. It says I have 16 programs in PGC1 and 16 chapters. But in the original file it says I have 21 programs and 20 chapters. The times for the cells differ too. Why is this different? And how can I correct this? Does this have anything to do with using IfoEdit for a NTSC-movie? | ||||

| maikel please upload here in a zip file the IFO's of the movie. Or send them in my PM. I will look at them and I will tell you if you can make this DVD with subtitle or not. | ||||

| I had posted before about problems I was having w/ the guide. I broke it down to vobedit. When I demux a vob (source from my hd) it demux's the beginning & the ending (all into 1 file in proper order) but doesn't do the middle so my 2hr movie creates a 1hr file. Anybody know why?
Oh I've tried this on 2 seperate dvd's & I'm runnign the running config athlon 1500XP 256MB Win2kProw/ServicPack4 VobEdit V0.6 Thanx | ||||

| Hi,
I notice that is better to demux the VTS_01_1.VOB than VTS_01_0.VOB. If you demux Bruce Almighty VTS_01_0.VOB you get the DTS but when you author again you dont get it. TheMatrixx: I still have problems with compatibility. In some players you can see the subs and in some other you cant and sometimes the subs disapear and you have to put them again. The original movie Torque dont have VIDEO_TS files. When you do the step 5 you get VIDEO_TS files but you cant play the movie. | ||||

Hiya Maikel, I'm having ex-act-ly the same difficulties, I've got a set of vob files with originally 30 cells and 21 chapters, when i make a CellTimes.txt list in ifoedit it lists ALL the 30 cells in the CellTimes.txt, not just the ones where a new chapter starts. Then after authoring with ifoedit it used only the first 20 as chapterpoints instead of all thirty, and besides that the times differ too. And you're right, when i try to make a celltimes.txt file manually with all the right framenumbers, it only uses 16 of 'em. And rejig always quits on me too. So there are a couple of things pretty fooked up here. 1. Rejig just quits after a while when authoring. 2. Ifoedit doesn't use the given celltimes in celltimes.txt 3. Ifoedit doesn't use the exact amount of celltimes in celltimes.txt (when given thirty it uses only 20 as chapterpoints, when given 21 it uses 16 as chapterpoints) Any ideas on the matter would be greatly appreciated. | ||||

Try demux VTS_01_1.VOB instead VTS_01_0.VOB and tell me if you see any different. | ||||

| If you have the main movie at VTS_01_1.VOB. Please see the new WARNING at STEP 3 after section a)
------------------ WARNING ! - If the orginal movie that is in the "Original DVD" folder starts from another *.VOB file than VTS_01_1.VOB (exemple : VTS_02_1.VOB or VTS_03_1.VOB), than you will have to open in VobEdit VTS_02_0.VOB file or VTS_03_0.VOB file. If you don't know in what *.VOB files the movie is, open each file with a DVD PC Player starting from VTS_01_1.VOB and see where is the movie. ------------------ | ||||

| Hi TheMatrixx
I mean if the movie start from VTS_01_1.VOB then choose this file for demux and not the VTS_01_0.VOB. I try this in Bruce Almighty and if you choose VTS_01_0.VOB you get 3 VOB files instead 4 which the original movie is. When you choose VTS_01_1.VOB you get the same VOBs and size like the original. | ||||

| TheMatrixx,
Thx for those new comments. I think I've found my problem. The movie is Paycheck and it has 22 Programs and 38 Cells. According to you, it won't work at all. Could you please explaine to me why?, what does this mean?, is there any other way to do this? Thx. | ||||
| Wookie3K posted 2004 May 24 10:17 | ||||
Hey panoplos, thx for the reply. Well... The movie starts in VTS_01_1.VOB because VTS_01_0.VOB only contains the streams for the animated menus and stuff, so with vobedit I alwas just demuxed VTS_01_1.VOB (and ascending of course). As far as I know, demuxing a VTS_XX_0.VOB doesn't really make any sense, because the "zero VOB" pretty much always just contains menu information, so i never did that in the first place. Another thing I noticed when i had my demuxed m2v file, is that I could open it in Virtualdubmod, but Mpeg2vcr just displayed blackness. This never happened to me before, so maybe any of you guys find this information usefull for helping me solve my problem. The only thing that's keeping me from finishing my dvd with a new sub, is my lack of a proper program to mux my .m2v, .ac3 and 3 .sup files that also allowes the input of chapter points and is not IfoEdit or Rejig ;p Any ideas are welcome, thx. | ||||

| Another Question,
What does it mean if the original sub has 2 IDs? My Movie has: Subpicture 1: English (ID: 0x20, 0x21) Normal Caption Subpicture 2: French (ID: 0x22, 0x23) Forced Caption Sub Rip says "CLOSE CAPTION detected" When I demux the movie, I got 2 .sup files, VTS_02_0.20.sup and VTS_02_0.21.sup. I supposed that they where English and French, but both of them are exactly the same ... ENGLISH. I was replacing just VTS_02_0.20.sup with my new subs. May be replacing both files with the new one will work. What do U think?, Was this the root of my problem?. | ||||

| A little update on my progress (yeah... let's just call it that) It seems the .m2v I keep demuxing from those vobs is just really fooked up, Almost every program crashes when I try to open it. TMPEGEncoder can't even reencode it whole, just the first couple of minutes. How come this .m2v file is so butchered after i demuxed it from my vobs? I tried several methods of demuxing:
- used vobedit. - used smartripper with stream processing. - used dvd decrypter with stream processing. - first reencoded with dvdshrink, then ripped and demuxed everything. Nothing seems to work. How come the original dvd works okay when it contains such a crappy mpeg2 stream? Weird isn't it? Might this be the reason ifoedit and Rejig fook up the author process and chapter points? Hope this clears some things up!! | ||||

| What if I translate the original subs, in order to have the exact same number of lines?...what do u think?...would this be a feasible way to make it fool de DVD? | ||||
| TheMatrixx posted 2004 May 25 11:52 | ||||
| Hi all, first i want to make a thing clear...Wookie3K the 0 *.VOB file of the movie ...YES it's a menu file...but also is the index of the rest of the *.VOB files. You said "so i never did that in the first place" ....well if you demuxed the VTS_XX_0.VOB file, when the demux process starts you can see that it stars with VTS_XX_1.VOB and so on till the end of the movie. It skips the 0 file. But you have to open the VTS_XX_0.VOB to have a good *.m2v file at the end, and the other files as well (ac3, dts, sup).
I understand your problem Wookie3K with the *.m2v file, if you did what i just said...and still have problems mabey the DVD it's some kind...locked...I don't really know...try to other OS the process. BTW...if the makers of the DVD's from Sony or other company will see this guides...they will make the IFOs and VOBs that way to not open them with IfoEdit or any other software. DAMN ! scary thing :( LioCraft, first question...how many chapters you have on the DVD ? is it 22, 23 or 38 ? And I don't think it's 38. Anyway....to explain why it will not work, if the original movie has 22 chapters let's say, and you multiplex it with 38 chapters...and the original IFO's know that the movie is 22 chapters but you multiplex it with 38....what is the result ? Failure :( Some DVD's are made that way not to re-authored them Not with the programs that we have now :( Second question about the 2 IDs of the sub files or audio files...I think that it's not normal and the result will have errors, mabey it's another trick from the makers of the DVDs to not re-authored them :( In my DVDs I didn't have that, I will do some tests and I let you know if it's posible or not. And finaly with the subtitle, I said it ones...I will say it again : The best way to see if your subtitles are sync or not is to rip one of the original subtitles (exemple: english) from the DVD and compare it with the one you want to put, look at the time codes at the middle, end and begining of the subtitle. Most of them are not like the original ones from the DVD. And you will have to copy the text from the subtitle you want to put and paste it over the rip ones, line by line I know it's hard and it takes like 3 hours per subtitle but in many cases this is the only way. :( I did it for 4-5 of my DVDs. | ||||
