| I have on my hard disk a foreign language DVD movie (a VIDEO_TS folder) that I would like to burn to a DVD-RW and watch on a standalone DVD player (Sony DVP-NS33).
The problem is the movie only contains subtitles in languages I do not understand. Is it possible to somehow add subtitles in an additional language before I burn the film to a DVD disc? I already have the new subtitles as a separate .srt text file.

| Thanks for the tip! :)
Problem is, I'm using Linux. :( The method you suggested requires software that is available only on Microsoft Windows (SubtitleCreator) .

| Did you bother to look under Linux Tools or Subtitle Tools in a Tools section ?
Subtitle Editor looks like it will do the job

Thanks! :) I have now created a new subtitle file in the SubRip format. What do I do next? Should I use some kind of DVD authoring software to replace the subtitles in the VIDEO_TS folder?
Problem is I'm new to this DVD-authoring stuff and don't quite know what features I should be looking for...
