How do I convert MP4 to AVCHD? |
| rnaval posted 2009 Aug 29 14:30 |
| I've got a Flip UltraHD camcorder that saves MP4 1280x720 30fps files. I've used MultiAVCHD to convert these files to AVCHD format and burned them to DVD in order to playback in high resolution 720P on a Panasonic BD30 BlueRay player.
The problem I'm having is that the burned DVDs show the menus properly, but when playing the actual video, I get sound but no video. Most probably my video is not AVCHD\BlueRay compliant. I've tried Transcode using MultiAVCHD and selected 29.970fps but I get the same problem. |

| Post a mediainfo of the camera footage so we can see what it actually shoots. However it does sound like you may have to re-encode the video to get it working correctly. |

| Here's the mediainfo on the video file.

| It turned out to be the fps - once I re-encoded using 23.976 as the fps, it worked fine. If only I didn't have to re-encode, what a pain that is. I would in the future opt to buy a camcorder that produces videos that are AVCHD \ BlueRay compliant. |

| 720p30 is AVCHD compliant. It may be some other setting in the encoder that is making it compliant. |

| No, 720p30 is not AVCHD compliant. AVCHD is designed to be bluray compliant, and blu ray does not allow 720P30 format.
http://www.videohelp.com/hd "Video frame size High Definition Video 1920x1080x59.94i, 50i (16:9) 1920x1080x24p, 23.976p (16:9) 1440x1080x59.94i, 50i (16:9) AVC / VC-1 only 1440x1080x24p, 23.976p (16:9) AVC / VC-1 only 1280x720x59.94p, 50p (16:9) 1280x720x24p, 23.976p (16:9) Standard Definition Video 720x480x59.94i (4:3/16:9) 720x576x50i (4:3/16:9)" See also: http://www.avchd-info.org/format/index.html I would make it 720P60 with duplicated frames (altetrnatively interpolated moiton corrected frames using MVTools in avisynth) to avoid any judder from the framerate conversion. |

| Try DEMUXING using Tsmuxer changing the fps of the video from 30fps 29.970, then changing the tempo on the audio -.1% to sync with the video. |
