| Hello..
I tried to update my Thomson DTH 8550, and i got an error, now it won't start (just says hello in the display)... What can I do.. PLEASEE help... |

| ERASE ERR would seem to indicate it had trouble erasing the memory during the flashing process. The typical process is to erase and then write the new firmware. In your case, it is likely now corrupted.
You can try to flash the player again. If that doesn't work, it will need to go to the repair shop. If it isn't under warranty, it will likely be more cost effective to replace it. |

I have the same problem, could you fix the problem, or did someone fix your problem? This is really bad type of update procedure. I did this in several other applications and first of all it will create a backup and than update the firmware later on it will check everything and if everything works ... so this is really to bad. Hopefully there will be a solution for this problem. |

| It likely isn't an issue of bad firmware or firmware that doesn't work, but a matter of the flashing process not completing properly. The error noted above is a hardware error caused during the erase process...the machines didn't even get far enough into the process to load the new firmware.
In general, unless you are having an issue with the player that the new firmware specifically states that it fixes, you shouldn't be flashing the firmware. |
