HDTV Audio output is too low. Help

I have a HDTV JVC Genessa and theirs only one audio output and no matter what receiver or wire i use the output volume is extreamlyy low ive looked through the tvs settings still nothing. Anyone have any idea??

ATSC digital TV uses AC3 Dolby Digital audio. DD has wider dynamic range. That means the loudest loud is similar to analog sound but the soft volumes are way down.

Most HDTV sets have settings for audio compression that lower the dynamic range (i.e raise soft volume). Cable boxes also have "audio compression" settings.

This is sometimes called "night mode".
