HD sizing for the net |

| Hey -
I'm shooting full HD then downconverting the 16:9 to a squished DV to work with for the time being. Since it's originally 1920x1080, I started with 10% (192x108px) but this was too small. So, I doubled the size to 384x216 to keep the ratio and it looks pretty good. Just wondering if this method is correct and what method you're using. Thx |

| You are doing the right thing...
1920/1080= 1.777777777778 384/219= 1.777777777778 as long as the output value is 1.7778 you will keep the aspect ratio stars.... |

| Your method is fine as long as you keep Aspect Ratio correct. As for me, I prefer to resize down to 1280x720/60p. The way I figure it, what's the sense in shooting Hi-def if you're going to output to SD or less........ |

| So, if I had a 16:9 clip that was mistakenly stretched to 320x240 and want to keep the width, I take it I'd divide 320 by 1.77 to end up with 320x180...Looks about right |

| Doesn't seem to be any set template size for the web at 16:9 like there is for 4:3 @ 320x240px
With widths like 320, 352, 362, 384, I guess it's up to me and what's best for my sites to make the tradeoffs in downloading and quality. |
