I know about WINrar, but I have a MAC OS/X...I have the UNrar, but it's not working at all for me...So, do you know where I can get an "extracter" (sorry, I don't know the term for those programs that extract files)?
Thanks.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Mac OS X (10.3+) built-in archiver app (BOMArchivehelper) will work on .tar files
(and also .bom, .bz, .bz2, .cpgz, .cpio, .gzip, .gz, .tgz, .tbz, .tbz2, .Z, .zip).
And a lot of 3rd party apps do .tar as well, which you can find on VersionTracker or MacUpdate: e.g.
- The Unarchiver
- StuffIt DeLuxe/Expander
- 7zX
