Epson Print CD software - where to download from.......
Harvy2001 posted 2004 Aug 23 08:46
Lost my Epson CD and I cant find the EpsonCD software anywhere can anyone help, I remember before someone on this forum provided a link, i think it was for one of the R??? model printers but it still worked on my printer (Photo 900).

Thanks

stiltman posted 2004 Aug 23 11:42
the software is only about 2mb for the 2100 so I bet it's included with their driver download. I doubt the actual drive is 7mb. Did you try the full driver download here?

For the Mac here is the Epson Link from Epson in Europe. Not sure if it will work on a PC. I am still looking for the PC Version. When I get home I will see how large the setup file is. I called Epson support and they don't provide the PC version anywhere.

http://emeasupport.epson-europe.com/downloadfile.aspx?LNG=EN-EU&a ... vepB52KGlS

You can also try here for other applications as a replacement for the Print CD Software.

If the 2100 and the 900 use the same software(as in the link above for MACs) , here a link to the Ausie version for windows. It doesn't say that is supports the 900 though

Bodyslide posted 2004 Aug 23 13:23
I think that is only the update. The full install is around 14 megs. I'm still looking. The currenct version is 1.2.

yep, my mistake

Supreme2k posted 2004 Aug 23 15:42
If anyone needs it, I've got 1.20A that came with the R200. Only 2.45M

I can upload it to my server and PM the link.

Mods, if this is considered warez, please delete this post.

I think this may be what you are looking for. It's about 13M.

Harvy2001 posted 2004 Aug 24 07:42
thanks pudah, gonna try that and see if it works

overloaded_ide posted 2004 Aug 24 08:06
If it's the same as the R200 and you still need it later PM me.
I have the R200 and could probably send the software or an iso of the whole epson cd.

I dought this would be considered warez, if it is for an epson printer, and only works with an epson printer, then if you have an epson printer you should have the epson software, right!

That always gets me, the legal disclaimers that you can only install hardware specific drivers on only one system when all they do is make one certain piece of hardware work and serve no other purpose. Like ya, I really would want to install my Umax scanner drivers or Supra modem on 7 computers that DON'T have a Umax scanner or Supra modem!! Duh, why?

Sometimes we just gotta use common sense and forget those goofey manufactorers!!

I total agree. the drivers only work on their hardware. The software I can understand but not the drivers

very appreciated Supreme2k but the link pudah posted worked a treat, it was just the Epson PrintCD software I needed and well its worked....

Thanks anyways mate.

Supreme2k posted 2004 Aug 24 22:38
You're welcome. Even if it didn't quite help you, I've gotten eight downloads of the ISO and twenty-four PrintCD (all unique), so I guess someone's gotten some use.

zgrm100 posted 2006 Jan 07 00:22
guys that site on longer works and I need the software because I can't find the CD anywhere. Can someone help me out please.

p_l posted 2006 Jan 07 01:24
Believe it or not, the only place I've ever seen it is on Epson's Russian site.

Here's the English version from there: http://support.epson.ru/upload/drivertypes/000781/printcd_14ae.zip

mysticmel posted 2006 Jan 07 02:54
Hi guys, was just wondering if you could tell me if any of these Epson PrintCD links are for updated software for the Epson 900 printer and it's bundled version of EPCD version 1.10A? I've been looking all over and emailing Epson asking if an updated version existed, of course I've never expected a reply! If these are indeed links to an updated version, can someone please tell me (in briefness) what are some of the improvements/fixes. And also, thanks in advance to those who provided the links.

Kay

p_l posted 2006 Jan 07 09:07
Well, I noticed in going back to my original link on the Russian site that it had been updated from version 1.2, which I still have, to version 1.4, which is the version currently available from there. I haven't tried the new 1.4 yet so I can't tell you what the difference is.

I just installed that 1.40E (which brought me up from 1.20E).

I haven't played with it too much, but I see they have finally incorporated background image caching... I make my CD's in Photoshop @ 300dpi and save them as .bmp's and load those as backgrounds into PrintCD - at times, I get quite a few bmp's in my usual folder and the old 1.20E would reload them *all* each time I go to choose a new background (and it would take a loooooooong time). This new 1.40E is super-quick now (obviously caching the existing images that it knows about) which is all I really wanted :)

p_l posted 2006 Jan 07 11:04
Sounds good. Any other noticable changes?

HillJack posted 2006 Jan 07 11:08
I can't say. My extent of using it is:

1) Load
2) Select Background
3) Print
3a) Select Another Background (for next disc), goto 3
4) Close

:)

I do everything in Photoshop which gives me 100x more functionality.

HillJack posted 2006 Jan 11 11:01
I don't know if it was there in the old verion, but I just noticed that the Inner/Outer Diameter settings now has a profile list...

p_l posted 2006 Jan 11 12:59
Nope, version 1.2 did not have this, so it is new.

rowl3y posted 2006 Nov 10 07:53

why do epson remove all the good software

thanks

VegasBud posted 2006 Nov 10 13:06
rowl3y,

You can get Version 1.40 E (the version I use) on this page. It's the second link under "Software". I would advise getting it sooner rather than later just in case that link dies too.

I see this was your first post here, so welcome to VideoHelp.

p_l posted 2006 Nov 10 18:18
They have English version 1.5 posted at the bottom of this page on the Russian site, if my Cyrillic guesswork is correct. That seems to be a new version, AFAIK. I'm still on 1.4. I wonder what the difference is.

Here's a direct link to the zipped file (2.74MB), if you don't feel like wading through the Cyrillic:

Does anyone have a Mac version of this? I lost my CD as well, but I'm an OS X user.

Please help.

Where is your god now?

But seriously, over at Steve's Digicams, it says the Epson Print CD software is also supposed to work on a Mac, so you may as well try the one linked to above. What's the worst that could happen?

:
...the Epson PrintCD application, it runs on Windows or Mac computers.

Bodyslide posted 2006 Nov 14 12:35
If you get an error about this PICSDK.dll missing install this as well.

epson11602.exe

tonemgub posted 2006 Nov 14 13:09
I tried that. I know that the original CD is a hybrid Mac OS/PC CD, but I doubt anyone on this site has ripped both PC and Mac versions.

The one linked above is PC only. Does anyone have a Mac rip of this? I've scoured torrents and limewire, etc...it's like this program doesn't even exist.

stiltman posted 2006 Nov 14 15:14
OK, yep it's there only viewable on a MAC

Not sure I can make a image of the CD to work on a MAC from a PC...suggestions?

BTW, they didn't put file extensions on the MAC version, least that's what the MAC guy just told me

A MAC guy ripped everything off the CD, I zipped the Print CD software. It's 20mb just for the PrintCD software....The whole CD is ripped is like 110mb

I don't know how to get it to ya.

I've ripped entire CD images before using Toast Titanium for OS X.

...maybe that might work?

Hi folks

I was reading the forums a while ago as I was looking for the Epson PrintCD software. I eventually found it on a site where there were two versions available. The one I got is just for Windows, but the other was listed as an ISO for both Windows and Mac OS's.

Now it was not free and I don'y want you to be thinking I'm bunging in an advert or anything, but for those who want it the address is

www.TradeBit.com and then use the search thing to look for PrintCD and it brings up both versions. Not sure what build number it is though.

Hope this is helpfull.

I need some help with Epson Print CD apparently it saves the images as BMP this is turning out to be a problem THEY ARE HUGE I can save as jpg at 200kb (versus the 2.58mb of the ec3) file and just as easily drop the JPG into Print CD as I can drop the EC3 into Print CD

HOW do I extract the files from the EC3 file without having to resort to rescanning. IE some way of getting the image BACK out of Print CD files so I can edit and save as jpg's I could clear up dozens of gigs of space if I could do this.

irfanview won't touch it neither will photoshop (was hoping it was just a container)

Thanks!

p_l posted 2008 Apr 13 21:53
That's why I switched to Canon's CD-LabelPrint, because you have the option of saving as an image, either .bmp or .jpg. There is no such option with Epson Print CD.

However, I just figured out a workaround. If you install Snagit, which is a good screen capture utility to have anyway, one of your printer options in Epson Print CD becomes Snagit. Just print to that and save it as a jpg or any other of the over dozen image formats to choose from.

nerys posted 2008 Apr 13 22:58
Hmmm I tried the screen cap but its an interpolation. the original file is 300dpi the "captured" file is no where near the original quality IE I am better off rescanning (less work than the screen cap too)

Grrr I was hoping for a BATCH option to sick the 6000 or so files I have all in one go. I could then clean them up one by one as I use them in photoshop.

Will the Canon Program work with the epson printer?

p_l posted 2008 Apr 14 04:50
Nope, it only works with a Canon printer. Furthermore, it wouldn't be of much use to you since it doesn't open your Epson EC3 files.

If your objective is to save space, quality will be compromised by jpg compression, so if I were you I'd just buy extra storage for your EC3 files. External hard drives are cheap, and you would save yourself a lot of trouble.

nerys posted 2008 Apr 14 15:01
No it won't effect quality at least not visibly. at 300dpi I can compress a Disc image to 200kb and its completely indistinguishable once printed from the 2.6mb file the epson software created. Thats WHY I am switching to jpg. IE there is no benefit to staying with the EC3 except to eat up for disk space

I was hoping the canon software would work since I am going to make them all jpg's eventually. jpg's would work with both. But alas you say it won't work with the epson printers. I won't change from the epson because I can get those cartridges for $2.50 a pop. No one has affordable knockoffs of the new canon carts yet.

Even on screen I have to look really hard to tell the difference. NOW if you want to edit in the future this can cause problems ie resaving etc.. though I have found that even after 3 resaves the quality difference is still virtually impossible to determine once printed but thats easy too Just don't save the changes :-) but I rarely have to edit once done and important stuff is saved as PSD anyway.

This could literally save me DOZENS of gigs of space and speed up machine syncs and backups.

GREETINGS EVERYONE you will find epson print cd version 1.5 on the torrent sites .TORRENTS TO and it works even if you are running on windows vista.

p_l posted 2008 Jul 05 14:24
What are the changes/improvements in v. 1.5, besides Vista support?

jeffrey long posted 2008 Jul 05 14:32
it now gives you a sidebar where you can use the tools to change backgrounds/inner diameters/draw tools to do straight/circular or circular items whereas previously you had to use file to do these

p_l posted 2008 Jul 05 15:01
Do you mean like this, or is it something different?

jeffrey long posted 2008 Jul 05 15:03
same as that one

p_l posted 2008 Jul 05 15:05
OK, well that's the same as version 1.20a. Are there any other differences?

I just found myself in the same situation - needing my Epson R200 installer CD as I have moved to a new Macintosh computer and couldn't find my printer's original installer CD.

As the others here have observed in the past, the Epson Print CD app is not available from Epson's support downloads on the web, and the Russian link no longer works.

Can anyone please help? Thank you in advance.

victoriabears posted 2008 Jul 17 13:36
Why do epson not give this as a download?, sorry if I missed the history, seems odd.
I have the CD and can help if you PM me.

This what epson.ca says:-

Q: How do I upgrade or get a new copy of the Epson Print CD software that came with my printer?
A: The Epson Print CD software that came with your printer or all-in-one is current for your product. Although newer versions of the software may be included with later products, the functionality of the software remains unchanged. You would not receive any benefit by upgrading your version of Epson Print CD, and you could experience compatibility problems if you install a version of Epson Print CD intended for a different product and try to use it with your printer or all-in-one.

If you do not have the Epson Print CD software that came with your printer, you can contact Epson Support for a replacement.
