| I trying to convert a dvd to divx using Xvid4PSP. The dvd has black borders on the top and the bottom, and Xvid4PSP automatically crops these, which is fine, but the output movie is still 720x576, which means the picture is stretched.
I'm not allowed to set a resolution that matches 576-"border height". Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks! | ||

After you do that click on APPLY then OK and it should turn out the way you want (knock on wood). The XviD AVI Hardware profile works well for DVD players that support DivX ... I can confirm it works on my Philips DVP5140 as well as my Sony PS3. Note the PS3 is very finicky when it comes to XviD files so 2 big thumbs up for XVID4PSP on getting it right! - John "FulciLives" Coleman | ||

| What do you mean stretched? vertically? horizontally? post a screenshot if you can't describe it
What was your original source? PAL 720x576 16:9 DAR? What are you cropped output dimensions? Did you encode anamorphic or 1:1 pixel aspect ratio? Use mediainfo on your source, and output, if you don't know the: 1) Frame Dimensions 2) Display Aspect Ratio | ||

| Xvid4PSP crops the black borders from the top and the bottom, (70 pixels each)
but the height remains the same, which results in a vertically stretched image. The height should be 576-70-70=436, but I'm not allowed to set it to this. | Did you "play around" with the "How To Fix Aspect Difference" option?
You might have to "fiddle" about with it a bit to get it "just right". - John "FulciLives" Coleman P.S. Are you sure the input is 16:9 and not 4:3 ? |
