| Well I got bored today and Started ripping some dvds with DVD decrypter (I am in the UK, so region 2) I found an old Region 1 dvd and decided to rip it. I put it in and the disc isn't reconised, I presumed it was because it didn't match regions. So i went into the dvd drive options in DVD decrypter and changed the region to region 1. But now nothing reads at all. I've tried region 1 and 2 dvds along with ANYDVD software and DVD region+ CSS free but my drive still lacks to read anything. I'm guessing i seriously messed it up as when i try to change it in DVD Decypter It just says "Unable to change region of dvd drive, please place a media of the corresponding region in the drive and try again". I tried this and no go. I went into device manager and selected the DVD drive and tried to change it through that, but i got a similar message. I have tried having region 1 and 2 media in when chaning the region but it still won't work.
When i changed the DVD drive for the first time somthing must've gone wrong and I really don't know how to fix it. Should I try uninstalling the device and reinstalling (never done that before)? Thanks |

| GOTO device mgr (in control panel -> system ->) You may have surpassed the number of region changes allowed for your drive (4). its best to never change the region code unless you make it region free..You might have to re-install windows too .. search these forums for "region change" to get other solutions. |
