Can I transfer directly my files from my desktop to my laptop and vice versa with some cable connecting the two PCs? Thanks and cheers. |

| They make a USB cable that can do that....probably others too. |

| a network crossover cable can be used directly between to computers. |

| FireWire sets up ad-hoc networking between computer, too. However you will need to set up the shares on each computer in order to share back and forth. |
