Damaged m2t file? | ||

| Okay, I edited some home video from my Sony HC5 with vegas, shoved a few tunes in here and there, bit of standard bits of txts, nothing fancy, them exported it as an mpeg2 HD file to play on my external Helios Media player. All works there, no problems at all, plays fine on my media player. One of my relatives wanted a copy of the file to play on her PC, so I dragged it over and went to play it, it plays fine up untill the 43 second mark, where it just stops! I tried converting it to any other format with Canopus ProCoder, converts fine, upto the 43second mark and just gives in! So I tried converting the ORIGINAL copy which is on an external hard drive, converts fine - upto the 43second mark!! what is going on here?! Its totally confuzzeled me, so any help would be appreciated!

| Download the 21 day eval of VideoRedo and run your M2t through Tools-->"Quickstream Fix" | ||

| There are half a dozen apps which will also fix mpeg2 TS files.
Mpeg2repair is very good (but slow). Still, I guess I'd start with this one first. ProjectX - Tremendous power, but not the easiest app to use. AviDemux2 - Copy audio and video back to new Mpeg2TS file. TSremux Mpegstreamclip | ||

| Not good. You've got a corrupt file. Try the others, but they'll almost certainly stop there as well. Bummer. | ||

| Yup, tried em in a few other progs and got the same.. they just all stop at the same point! But yet my helios will still play them from an external HD. Is there anyway I can export the video back to my HC5 and then back again? Hmm! |
