Converting PAL to NTSC error Attempted to read or write protected memory. | ||

| Hello folks. I am a new user of SVCD2DVD, primarily using it to convert PAL to NTSC to send to a friend in North America.
I have done a couple and been really pleased with the quality of the end result. I am using 1clickDVD to shrink the source DVD to the required size and then ripping the result files to my hard drive. I then use SVCD2DVD with the option QuickDVD (no menu or burn) and finally use 1click to burn the result to disc. I have an 'episode' type DVD which is causing my problem. I get the error (see below error followed by log file) right at the end when SVCD2DVD is authoring titleset #1 at 50%. I usually use 2 pass to get best quality but read a suggestion to try with just 1 pass - this produced the same error. SVCD2DVD is not installed in program files either. 1clickDVD is usually good with episode files and the source disc plays fine on my DVD players. Any suggestions much appreciated. I am running Vista Basic SP1 on a 2GB intel. The log shows I was running low on disc space but I have run it earlier and got the same error when there was more disc space available. Having had a few crashes of this type I now need to clean up the crap as I had 27GB free when I started this morning! I did that and it crashed in exactly the same place 50% of the way through Titleset #1. I just did another quick test using just one file of the set: VTS_01_1.VOB. This worked fine and the resultant DVD is another pre-movie intro video sequence so I know I can exclude that too if I can get the whole thing to convert. By the way when I add the assets in to SVCD2DVD some are not imported (i.e. rejected by your program) e.g. VTS_TS.VOB and VTS_02_0.VOB. 4 files in total each the same size - 154Kb. I think the issue is mixing of the old titlesets into a single titleset:
The number of audio streams differ in the assets and that is not allowed in a single titleset. So basically you need to seperate out the titles based on audio/video attributes: Title: VTS_01_1.VOB (ac3 5.1) Title: VTS_02_1.VOB (ac3 2.0) Title: VTS_03_X.VOB (2 AC3 streams) Title: VTS_04_x.VOB (2 AC3 streams) This is probably why it was authored this way in the first instance. Anyway the Play All Menu button will "string them together". | ||

| I got rid of the rogue different audio segments (which were all pre-movie crap anyway and the conversion worked perfectly.
This has given a bit more confidence to get in to the nuts and bolts of how this all works so many thanks Chrissyboy for your patient and fast responses. You have authored a great product, the results from which will make folk all over the world very happy! | ||

| Hi all
I have this problem listed above and the solution looks a good one but... I am putting together a compilation of music video's taken from several different places. In ripping these video's I often had to select different audio streams as occasionally the commentary would come up over the music. I now have all the Mpg's with the audio's the way I want I want using Vob2mpg but I have different d audio streams mixed throughout the collection. Is their a way I can run a script across all the files to 'Line up' all the audio streams or will I have to go a re-rip all the video's…….. or is there a way I could find out which mpg's are causing the issue. I could use the 'play all' option but that would make the menu a lot longer than would really suit. Or is there a way I can create submenu's. Many thanks in advance dunncha |
