Computer does not recognize my Optura 10 |

| My new computer will not recognize my Canon Optura-10 camcorder. Since my old computer does recognize and download from the camcorder, I know the problem does not lie with the cable, the device or the softwares (all updates were made).
Device manager doesn’t see the camcorder, as well as Windv who tells me: error: device not found. But the IEEE1394 card acknowledges with a “ping” the firewire cable when I plug it. I admit, I am not that good when it comes to computer so I need help :) Thanks in advance for any help. Anick. |

| It’s an Intel Core 2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz, 2GB ram, Window XP with service pack 2. Do you need anymore description like the kind of motherboard and such? If you need more please tell me, as I said before, my knowledge in computers is limited. Thanks! Anick. |

| Is the IEEE1394 a plug in card or is it built into the motherboard? |

| I have one that came with with my casing (Antec P160W Anodized Alum... with front IO ports) and the other is with the Audigy 2 card I added later. Both do not recognize the camcorder. My casing also comes with USB ports and they work very well. Anick. |

| Do you get the "ping" noise from both the front port and the one on the Audigy card? |
