Changes in MeGUI
Dschultz posted 2008 Sep 21 14:53
Hey all.

I was having some problems with MeGUI and decided to uninstall, and reinstall the latest version.

I'm not smart when it comes to this stuff. But, I have a guide that instructs me to choose "AE-GOODQUALITY" in the encoder settings selection.

Now that I have installed this new version of MeGUI... I seem to have lost the AO-GOODQUALITY option. In it's place are options such as "x.264: DXVA-HD-EXTRA QUALITY.

I'm so confused on what I should choose.

I'm simply using AnyDVD HD to pull the main m2ts file off of my blu-ray movies. I than use the guide I found here on this site to change them from 24-40gig files down to 8gig files that I can store on my home entertainment PC. A way for me to back up and easily access my blurays.

Aside from my confusion on the new Encoder settings options, I was also wondering if there is an application that simplifies this whole process. Sometimes you just don't want to have to become an expert at everything... know what I mean? I'd like to KISS (keep it simple, stupid). ;) Anything out there that does this? Any newer guides for ripping my big M2TS files down to 8gig files?\

Thanks for your time!!

Dave

Edit:

Here is the link the guide I use to change blurays to 8gig mkv files.

Tried xvid4psp or ripbot264? I don't know how well they handle the audio though.

Thanks Baldrick. I'm testing it out now. This is DEFINATELY down the right road for me. Thanks so much! It looks good so far. :)

Xvid4PSP does not work on my PC. You can read my forum post on their site here:
