can FairUse wizard use videoTS as source from harddrive?

ted demen posted 2009 May 26 20:27
i just downloaded FairUse wizard 2.9 le to convert dvds to avi.

my options for the source seem to be either an actual dvd in the drive

or a ISO image file.

both of which encounter the problem of copy protection which fairuse doesnt ignore

is it possible to use a videoTS folder (one that has been fab decrypted) on the harddrive as the source?

Here's what the FairUse Wizard FAQ says:

:
How can I convert the VOB files I already have on my hard drive ?
Well, you can't. FairUse was designed to make backups of DVD you already own, so you should make your backup from the original DVD. Nevertheless, you could eventually build an ISO image with a DVD burning software like Nero and open the ISO file from within FairUse

I rip my DVDs to ISO images for FairUse with no problem at all. What "copy protection" problem are you having with ISO images? Once you've ripped to an ISO there is no copy protection.
