| Hi There,
I edited and exported a HDV 1440x1080 file from Adobe Premiere CS3. The only way I could export it is as AVI file. Sometime ago I found this tutorial - Basic Blu-Ray Authoring with HDV source http://forum.videohelp.com/posting.php?mode=newtopic&f=48& ... 1259ba34b6 I though I will be able to convert the AVI to AVCHD and play it on the BR player. However, I looked closer and notice that tutorial works with the m2t file. What program can convert the AVI to m2t. Thanks |

| Your link doesn't seem to be correct....
Use a http://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/all-in-one-blu-ray-converters or convert to h264 avchd video using any x264 gui like megui, xvid4psp, ripbot264, ffcoder and then author it to a avchd/blu-ray using multiavchd. |

| Thanks for the reply.
I spend all day trying all the programs: megui, xvid4psp, ripbot264, ffcoder, but shear volume or settings and tabs just overwhelming. I do not know what all those settings mean and what they are used for. I search tutorials, guides but could not find anything. Is there a simpler way to do this. |

| I've read that 1440x1080 is only allowed when using AVC or VC1 to encode. No MPEG-2. That may not be a problem for you, but keep it in mind.
Note that BluRay players are incredibly inconsistent about playing BluRay format on DL media. Some may not do it at all. Others may be fussy about various folder names on the disc and refuse to play discs that don't use certain names. I am not an expert on this subject, but you can do some research to get more info on it. And if you are going to use DL media for this I would strongly recommend that you use only Verbatim DVD+R DL discs to have the best chance of this working. |

| Here are my original steps.
1. The original footage was shot using the HV30 Canon camera. I used the 24fps setting. 2. I then used the Cineform plug-in to capture the footage. 3. I opened the file in CS3 using one of the Cineform projects (HDV 1440x180). 4. Edited the project and the only way I was able to export the movie is using the Cineform HD setting. The project was only 30 min long and the file size was 27GB. 5. I then proceeded researching how to burn the footage on the DVD-DL. Hence the original post. The problem only was that none of the suggested programs could open the file. I either get a crash or it would say that I have invalid file. The only program that could open the file was Windows Media player, so I had to re-export the file in some other format. I tried Windows DV, but that would export it only as 720x480. I tried the uncompressed Wondows AVI, that created 200GB file that I could open anywhere also. I tried h.264 (blue-ray), but that file was not usable also. So finally, I used the h.264 setting in Adobe CS3 encoder and selected HDV 1440x1080p 23.97fps format. After the encoder finished the file was reduced to 4GB from 27GB. 6. I used the mulitavchd to create blue ray folders. This was my first HD project. Have I used the optimum settings? I have recently got the AP CS4 version and I am not going to use Cineform anymore. What is the correct workflow for HD projects? |

| I created blue-ray folders using multiAVCHD.
The following folders were created: +BDMV BACKUP CLIPINF PLAYLIST CLIPING PLAYLIST STREAM +HDAVCTN I selected the folders and burned them to root directory TDK DVD+R. Selected DVD-UDF 2.50 No Multisession. Two things: 1. When I played it in PS3, I heard the sound but no video. 2. When I played the m2ts file located in the STREAM folder in the windows media it played it in the 4:3 ration. When I played the original mp4 file in windows media player, it played in the 16:9 ratio. How do I fix the problems Thanks |
