-> DVD Ripping -> Break! File not supported! | | kramboa posted 2009 Nov 06 13:42 | I have a DVD folder on the hard drive, didn't rip by myself. I am using AutoMKV to convert to x264.
When having VTS_01_1.VOB as input this happens:

I have reinstalled ffdshow and avisynth.
Not the first time it happens, but now i really want to solve it!
| | lowellriggsiam posted 2009 Nov 06 15:35 | You said you didn't rip the dvd itself, if you open the vob file in Powerdvd, or such does the time counter say on zero while playing the file?
| | kramboa posted 2009 Nov 06 15:42 | Does it have to be Powerdvd? In mpchc the time counter works all right. I have also made an iso with imgburn and then reripped with dvd decrypter to see if it had anything to do with a encryption still present. No progress.
| | lowellriggsiam posted 2009 Nov 06 16:01 | The DVD you made, try making an mkv file using makemkv and see if it fails as well.
| | kramboa posted 2009 Nov 06 16:23 | That works but converting to x264 after that fails as before.
| | lowellriggsiam posted 2009 Nov 06 16:31 | try running the ripped dvd through dvd shrink.
| | kramboa posted 2009 Nov 06 16:46 | Not helping :(
| | Baldrick posted 2009 Nov 06 17:53 | Try another converter like handbrake, staxrip, megui, xvid4psp. All can make h264 using x264.
| | kramboa posted 2009 Nov 06 18:50 | Trying Handbrake, it's encoding now. But ETA ~7 hours for 80 minutes video??
| | kramboa posted 2009 Nov 07 03:48 | Handbrake made a 11GB file :P Isn't 80% the same as 20 as Quantizer?
Testing staxrip..
| | kramboa posted 2009 Nov 07 05:08 | Nope, staxrip gave me this after some encoding:
