blu ray on PS3

Hi! Can somebody help, I am trying to play blu ray on my PS3 with an HD ready LG television, I tried hdmi cable and the composit cable, both will only give the sound signal and the video signal is not played. Is this a television problem or a firmware/ ps3 problem or a disc problem? How should I solve it? ThanX a million!! Bye Kirsty

Do you get video on the TV when you play games on the PS3? how about a regular DVD?

You won't get HD on your composite cable. Double check your TV manual and make sure that you have the correct HDMI setup.

With games I get an image, also with regular dvd's, the strange thing is that the sounds is playing, just not the video signal??

Can you provide the model of the TV? Have you tried more then 1 Blu-Ray Disc in the PS3?

It is a LG, from may 2006, 26LC2R-ZJ.. HD ready with HDMI... could it be old firmware? I just tried one before, animation Blu-Ray, it worked perfect... with the composit cable, guess it was no HD?
