Any hope for this footage?

| I have some footage taken with a Hi8 camcorder that has been converted to DV. At the time, the shutter on the camcorder was sticking so that there are lots of rolling horizontal bands. A 5 sec clip can be downloaded here. "http://www.mediafire.com/?uzbthnzuz4m" Is there anything that can be done to "clean up" this footage? Thanks.

by "lots of rolling horizontal bands" do you mean interlacing? there is a lower strip that you can mask out or crop away What is your end goal for this footage? (e.g web delivery, dvd, etc...) ?

I'm referring to the relatively large rolling bands that are most visible against a white background. When viewing clip, focus on the top portion--a white pub. The lower strip is no problem. I only intend to use a fairly small clip of this material within an HDV project. I know it will look pretty terrible in contrast to the newer footage I have, but I wanted to include this 15 year old video regardless. Thanks for your reply. wwaag

| i can heardly see them, run the small clip through some sort of auto cleaner software like TMPG, I have found it has done wonders, always start simple. |
