| When encoding DVI files off of my camcorder to mpg , I set my audio to produce Dolby Digital 2 channel. What this is doing is sending all sounds to all speakers. I really just want the fronts. Is this being done by my software or my receiver? |

| If the audio you produced really is plain stereo (2.0),
then it's the OS itself that distributes the audio signal to all channels available. The matrix mixer of ffdshow and/or AC3Filter is a valid workaround for the problem. |
