| Just got this from Shop4Tech for $37 to replace my 3rd Plextor (all 3 died on me) Have only written several DVD+ discs with no apparent problems-I only gave it an 8 to be fair since it's less than 5 days old so not really enough time to test it comprehensibly. A few observations:It's a quiet drive-it doesn't read/write DVD-RAM-not a big deal for me-supposedly it writes DVDs at 18x but since there is no DVD media rated for that speed yet don't know how true it is-a big plus for me is its compatability with my Philips DVP-642 home DVD player, burned DVDs play perfectly on it.
