Bargain from Lidl at €200 store opening offer - worth a try I thought. Positives: * Quiet * ~55hrs on highest quality, v good reproduction * Menus are pretty clear, but can take a number of steps to get to the end Negatives: * Cannot record a new program to HDD while watching a pre-recorded program/DVD * Cannot change/add another timer program once recording has started * Display menu remains on top of screen when recording and can't be removed * Styling is not great Will probably hold onto it, as equivalent Sony/Panasonic is twice the price.

In Lidl Croatia 1800 kn = about 250 Euros. Little bit slow (remote) and noisy. Complicated menus.

Hi, I would have to say myself, my two sons aged 9 & 10 find it a very user friendly machine. They can even feed their PS2 console into sockets in fascia & enjoy 5.1 stereo.Discovered to-night that it is not Region Free, but after a couple of mins on net, got the hack and I am now the proud owner of a Region free DVD recorder. Nothing but good to say about this machine, very easy to record and menus/ editing etc is a piece of cake. The HUGE hard drive is just brilliant.All in all, I'm one very happy cuatomer.

Comments:
A little bit noisy at start up. Did not read all of tryed DVDs, did not support multiregion, then i had to use a hack to fix it (thanks internet). Menu is not very easy to navigate in. But generally a good machine.
