Stuck on 'Welcome' screen can be fixed by disconnecting machine for a week. The memory back up capacitor must be fully discharged before it will return to normal...

Very good overall. Setting programs is something of a pain because you can only use the up & down buttons to change everything, you can't use the number buttons.

Purchased from Best Buy $226 specifically to record the World Cup Soccer matches.... So far not very happy with the recording quality and burner results. Purchased FujiFilm DVD-R 8x disc recorded 54 soccer matches, at the following settings Video mode Record mode SP 2h3m. All of them played in GE Digital GE1101P DVD player without any issues. Purchased FujiFilm DVD+R 2.4x disc recorded 8 soccer matches Video mode in record mode HSP 2h51m None of them played in GE Digital GE1101P DVD player correctly. between 63 and 74 minutes the player froze up. Had to eject the disc. Note: the same thing occurs with the RDR-FX330 recorder. Short comings the second s-video input in on the front of the deck.... only stereo input no 5.1 or better... output to HD TV has a color shift from the Received signal. Not bad but noticable if displaying pin-n-pic Called Sony help 800-222-7669 discussed the R+DL freezing at 63 minutes.... They had no answer, nor would they recommend any DVD R+DL disc that would record and play properly. I'm taking this thing back if it won't record R+DL's then I don't want it.

Would be a decent player, but unlike the certifications listed on Divx.com saying this player can play all the divx and xvid files, this player barfs and rejects any disc with the files on it. I have been using the same disc in multiple players in DVD-ISO format with the avi files in the main directory.
