Mp3 only with CD. I can't use "pause live tv" (manual say it depends on the tv). Good quality for recording & play dvd.

I saw it for 250$ CAN at Costco, that is the regular price! Thinking of getting it because they also have the DVR-233, but that one does NOT play Xvid or DivX ... which can be important too (time and space consuming for converting to DVD...)

Voila en gros ce que j'ai pu faire avec depuis une semaine lui faire transferer un disque double couche dvd+r9 de marque verbatim vers le disque dure avec la commande one touche copy les dvdr+ et dvdr- pas de problemes il lis les dvdr+rw mais j'ai pas essayer de graver sur ce support les divx mpeg4 et xvid doivent etre graver sur un cdr ou un dvd-r alors l'installation est facile tres agreable aussi le guide+ facile pour enregistrer les programmes tv pour le reste cela ressemble à une usine à gaz qualité d'image parfaite ladessus pioneer na pas de leçons à recevoir j'ai donné une note de 9/10 pourquoi pas de hdmi donc pas d'upscale quoique ca change pas grand chose etant donné que c'est pas du hd

Superb picture and sound quality. However it is a shame that it plays mp3 and jpg only from CD. Also it cannot play DivX/Xvid from DVD+R or +RW, only from -R or -RW or CD. Then it can not play (and eventualy freezes - only cutting off the current helps!!!) with some Mpeg4 movies that is played OK by my previous PIO player, DV-2850. Recording is OK, though Guide+ is not tried yet (programme download will take place at midnight), but it is possible, that it will not work (Hungary... :( ) Maybe I should have waited one more year for the next generation, or maybe some firmware update will help.
