I have to record material from scart-connection whitch is protected by macrovison or MS DRM 10.
A set top box from T-Online Vision is connected on scart (you can stream any films by internet, 1 to 5 EUR per film).
If i start the record the error message "Content is cpoy protected".
I have pressd play -> record -> 2xDisplay without success.
Someone have a solution, to record copying copy-protected contents by scart-connection?
Thx |

Excellent bit of kit. Tried that copy protection disable trick- did not work at all, regardless of the input I used. Will have to be one of those macro and cgms scart removal leads instead ( sonel.com do a reasonable one ).
Can't fault it in any way so far.
has recorded on all dvd-r's I used, and all these have gone on to play in all other machines I have access to, very important for sharing my home movies with family and friends.
Anyone know of another macrovision hack, or a multiregion hack??
Cheers! |

Hi,
I have found one problem with the 3100s, it's when i am watching the recorded program from the disc the picture jumps litle to the left every 10-15 min... but it's still a great recorder.

| Had this 3 Months, conect to Sky Plus + on L3 and burn to DVD-R on 2hr setting, Digital quality movies with 5-1 Dolby Digital sound for les than £1. Great for re-building that movie archive after throwing out VHS. Using Datasafe DVD-R Ritec dye. |

I've been using Verbatim 4x DVD-R and -RW and they not caused me any problems. I finalise my discs in less than a minute and no problem with chase play feature in VR mode as I have not tried it Video mode.
The only problem I have is sometimes I get a copywrite protection message when recording some programs on BBC1 from my sky sat receiver. This cause the recording to pause for a second or so then continue which is irritating.
Anyone else experienced this? |

I am very happy with the quality of dvd recording but it is a bit slower than my previous machine philps 70
i too would like to know where the L3connection is for my sky sat receiver
I cannot use chase play feature as it says this funtion is not possible with this disc ( i have tried -r and -rw with the same error)i will try 2x speed disc to see if that would fix problem
it takes 4 mins to finish dvd where the philips done it a lot quicker
a lot of the extras only work with compatible tv sets such as Auto Start Recording

Great machine, stylish and very, very easy to operate.
I have recorded from Macrovision protected videos as a lot of them are quite knackered. You just require a macro removal scart lead. I am very impressed with the quality of the DVD's from my Pace satellite reciever. The viewing quality is great and the machine is very fast at searching. The remote also will control your TV.
I am having trouble finding what the L3 connector is on the machine, as I would like to connect my Sat reciever to it, as the manual states that any signal down this L3 connector will turn the machine on and then off when the signal ends. This would let me just set the Sky guide for a particular time and forget about it. There are various quality settings, I have chosen 2 hours per DVD-R/-RW.The only problem is that my other players won't play DVD-RW's (even when finalised). This may be a media problem, but I am very pleased with my purchase. The media I have used is 4X DVD-R and 2.4 DVD-RW. It seems to handle both with ease. The DVD-R's after finalisation will play on all my DVD players which include the X-Box and Playstation 2. |

Super machine, easy to use and stylish. My only minus is I cannot copy my kids original videos to DVD as it throws up a copywrite message and refuses to record.
This also happens when recording some programs from TV. Here it pauses the recording for roughly a second every few minutes then continues. |
