RE above, eject disk from the Remote is by holding down the stop button, Play button loads the disks.
Main problems, no optical digital audio out, does not play a some -R DVD disks. Slow to load disks, display type does not work on mpeg4 files, you need a tv that zooms vertical height. Progressive scan does not work
after latest firmware upgrade.
Good divx/xvid playback, good recording quality, did good p/scan picture b4 latest firmware.

I have been using this recorder for five weeks. Although it is a very nice looking device, I am disappointed with its usability. I tried to list the problems with using this device below.
* The system software running on this recorder is a real disaster!
* It takes nearly 20 seconds to power on the unit and another 15 seconds to load disc.
* Moving and sorting channels is a torture. It takes nearly 1 hour to sort 50 channels to your wish.
* TV programs are stored starting from 1 not zero. Program "0" would be easily selected with single key on remote.
* The background of Disc Menu is blue and the color of the text is a little more blue, which makes it very difficult to read.
* The button layout of the remote is not ergonomic. OK button is very small and difficult to locate without looking at remote.
* There is no "EJECT" button on the remote. You have to use the button on the front panel which is not easy to access when tray is open. The "POWER" button is on the left of the tray and "EJECT" button on the right. You have to use your left hand to power on, right hand to eject the tray, left or right hand to change the disc, right hand to insert tray back and left hand to power off, if you just aimed to change the disc with an empty one.
* There is no separate navigation buttons for system menus. To set chapter markers you can not use Forward Search and Reverse Search buttons to jump desired location, as they are used to navigate menus when active. You have to start from the beginning every time to set a single chapter marker or watch entire clip (title) with edit menu on the screen without being able to skip anything.
* The disc is updated and reloaded after every edit operation like index picture setting and chapter marker setting. You can not resume playing movie after edit.
* You can not adjust the level of sound with this recorder. If you just want to connect a simple speaker and listen music without turning on the TV set you have to use the know on the speaker.
* After a DVD+R is finalized, Fast Forward and Previous Chapter keys are disabled. You have to watch the recorded titles without skipping.
* If you program the timer to record 4 different programs and total time exceeds 6 hour, the confirmation dialog telling to insert a DVD+R with enough space is shown every time you want to power off. There is no DVD+R that can record more than 6 hours.
