Comments:
This player/recorder does pretty much everything I expected it to and few things I wasn't. Recording TV to the HDD and play back is pretty effortless and I even discovered I could plug in my old VCR (remember those things) and burn old videos to DVD.

The unit plays divx avi files via the USB port on the front which has proved invaluable to me at the moment!

I heard around the traps that the unit is hard to use. I will admit the user manual is a novel but overall I've found it pretty easy to operate and I'm sure there's more functionality I'm yet to discover when I getting around to reading more of the manual.

After owning it for nearly 10 months, I've also just made the discovery that it has code free DVD play back. Not only does it play movies burnt on DVD-R but it plays zone 1, 2 and 4. This is unmodified out of the box. I'm pretty happy about that.
