It is a pity the DVD-Audio feature is a forgotten medium due to bad word choice (almost everyone thinks that a DVD-audio is the same as a Music DVD which is completely wrong : DVD-audio is a kind of HD CD or SACD it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with movie! Maybe is is also a forgotten medium because dynamics are a little bit too high for a normal living room ??? 144 dB / Freq range 0-96 kHz PCM audio format !!! (sampling up to 192 kHz) Maximum Data Rate 9.6 MBps!!! ( http://ixbtlabs.com/articles2/sacd-dvd-a/ ) In any case A LOT better than CD...

Very good recorder, I like it! The Gemstar Guide+ system could be a little bit faster in accessing the tv program. After Firmware Update SVCD was possible without any issue. The update can be downloaded at the Panasonic website.
