| I read previous reviews so did not expect great playback (which is true); however, the recording features all worked. I also wanted to be able to play other regions than 1, which was able to do. The only problem I had was that one of the audio output jacks started humming after about 6 months. The company has it now to repair under warranty. That cost me nearly $35. USD.to ship. It's the first time in 30 years I've had to have any audio component repaired for anything--either quality purchases or luck. Their support staff is really helpful if you should need support. |

| Didn't rate it because I got it open box at Compusa. It wouldn't record from any source (inclusding itself, vhs) on any media (including the one it came with!) for more than a few minutes before it quit. I am returning it for another and I will hope for better and report back! |

When recording a 2 hours movie a 2 hour quality speed onto a DVD, there apparently was not enough room to finalize the disk since the recorded information was equal to the disk size.
Tech support advised me to either record 1:55 OR move to 3 hour quality on the recording.
Lost something I REALLY wanted to record. Had tested recording but never to this time limit.
Makes sense, but was not documented.
P.S. Blurry front panel is solved by removing the very thin layer of covering protecting the display face! |

Lite On has a new firmware upgrade for this unit which is available on their website.
I have upgraded my unit and it has made a difference by allowing me to play an original storebought DVD that would not play before. |

| I too noticed greenish tint during recording, but this tint did not show up during playback of recorded dvd on my primary player. Have burned 7 DVD-Rs and finalized them and they play fine on my Sony player. Have recorded from AV inputs on back and direct from VHS. Both have worked great. |

| bought this recorder\player to elimanate all the dvd,vcr's on top of my tv set,and to record my tapes to dvd, only problem was picture was terrible,greenish tint that would fade to a black and white picture, vhs playback was no better,tried s-video out,compsite, and compoenent out , nothing helped,it seems i'm not the only one with this problem,read in the forums about other liteon recorder having greenish tint problem.since this was going to be my primary dvd player,i didn't even try to record anything, just sent it back. |
