I too have had a problem recording from Movie Channels and a few other ones and solved the problem with a SIMA VIDEOCOPYMASTER

the only problem i have it's with the macrovision file, I can't remove it or blocking and I can't record program thru HBO, Starz and several other network. Someone know how to fix this?

Returning Unit to Best Buy. Digital Tuner produces horrible picture through either HDMI or Component input on my Olevia 42" LCD.

It seems great except that there is a noticeable hum unless the cable box is turned off.

I like this machine better than the XBR448 model. This model has a digital tuner, where the XBR448 had a stereo tuner. The menu system is the same, but, typing with the menu is slightly faster. When viewing pictures, you advance to the first image after viewing the last. The remote that comes with the machine, there was no code for my brand of tv (Sharp), however, I was able to use the remote that came with the XBR448 model.
