I have to lower my rating.
I've found 3 major problems
Too often once the RW is made compatible, PC reader see a 7.5 Giga???? written disk. This makes the recording not usable. DVD shrink is not able to read it.
Also quite always a lot of packet header not found warning is shown by dvd decripter.
Last but not least I need to repeat the make compatible procedures more times.
It's really a pity cause the recording quality at least up to 180 min. that's the max I've used, is really good
Maybe keymat should rise a new firmware version? |

Bought in Rome (Trony - via della Magliana) for 99€! (run fast!)
Great recording quality but very poor antenna tuner.
Has a lot of great features for an unbeatable price, BUT has a major bug, it does not allow overnight recordings.
For this problem it's available a Firmware fix at:
http://www.hb-direct.com/EN/F_32.html
Has someone installed the 2 fixes? Do they work on the italian H&B clone?
please let me know!! |

A great DVD+r/rw recorder. I bought it here in Rome yesterday and few minutes later it began to record my first cheap DVDRW. The quality is very good until the horizontal resolution is 720 pixel (HQ/SP), and is good with 360 pixel (LP). On internet I found an article in which 2 chips from Cirrus Logic offer encoding/decoding functionality for the DVD audio/video streams CS 92288-C8 and CS 98220-CM.
To all the italian people I'll send you an email so we can stay tuned to "discover" this recorder. |

You can find a better manual at http://www.met.com.tw/download_file/pvr/e_pv2400i.pdf
But, like the original one, is not fully complete. We have to discover by ourselves.
I am still trying to fully understand the recorder. If other keymat owners want to contact me, please write af m.cinti AT tiscali.it.
Ps Anyway, at the price of 189 Euro is a wonderful machine.

Found in Giotto store here in Rome for 189 Euro.
Well design is not so good but, it looks to me the machine works well.
Only burnt a DVD for test at HQ (60 min) and Standard Q (120 min).
Unlikely manual is really poor so you have to discover things by yourself. Not able to find a better manual on internet. Remote control is also slow in reaction.
For the money I payd, anyhow, it's more than sufficient.
My idea is just to save my old VHS on dvd so....
I'll come back with other comments as soon as I'll understand how does exactly works.
Maybe, if it is a clone the author of the first comment could post a link for more info?
PS
for tests I used Fuji and Richo DVDs

It's a clone of DVDr MET pv 2400i.
Compatibility with:
DVD ricoh +rw 4X
Philips +rw 4x
Allows adding, editing, partial deleting and partial over-writing on DVD+RW discs with a large capacity of 4.7GB
Instant One Touch Recording (OTR) on remote control
Digital i.LINK DV (digital video)
Real-time Recording of Live TV Input.
I've bought it for only 189€ in Italy.
Good motion, no pixelation, remote control very cheap and stand-By light much luminous for me.
GOOD!
For advantages or disavantages you can see the forum of DVDr H&B dr 900 (It'a french clone).
