MP3 WMA CVD? $550 N/A 7 of 10 DVD-WMA DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: Reads Ritek G04 DVD-R 4x media,but ALWAYS with extensive pixelisation after the first hour of playback and finally stopping playback altogether. Burnt over 30 of TDK DVD-R 4x discs.Playback with these has always been flawless from start to finish,no coasters.These discs can be recommended. (All above DVD-R discs are burnt with LG GSA4081B multirecorder using DVDShrink 3.1.,recorded on 2x speed) Doesn't play SVCD's,plays most VCD's though. No playback with CD-R's.

N/A No rating Comments: I have tried the following brands today: IMATION DVD-R: Works great. Menus o.k., navigation o.k., movie o.k. I've rendered a movie with Pinnacle Studio 8, which I also used to burn. I also used Nero 6 to burn some Shows - no problemo! SUNSTAR DVD-R: did not work - player hung up while initializing Disk. SONY DVD+R: problems during playing - pictures became pixelated and sound studdered. Had to stop test. PANASONIC DVD-R: did not work!! player hung up while initializing Disk. VERBATIM DVD-R: troubles during playing - pictures became pixelated and sound stopped. I will test more brands the next days. Hope this helps. Frank

N/A 9 of 10 Comments: I tried TDK CD-RW disks, Verbatim Datalife Plus DVD-R disks and Verbatim Datalife Plus DVD+R disks. They all worked fine, but you need to be aware of 3 things: 1) Only 74min/650Mb CD-RW disks work. 80min/700Mb disks do not work. 2) You need to burn DVD-R disks at low speed. Disks burned at 2x play fine, but disks burned at 4x do not play correctly (the player can't read the end of the disk). 3) You need to burn DVD+R disks at low speed. Disks burned at 2.4x play fine, but disks burned at 4x do not play correctly (the player can't read the end of the disk).

N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX Comments: Does not work with any cd-r that I have tried (10+ big name brands). Works great with any quality cd-rw (e.g. verbatim, HP, Infiniti) but not reliably with cheap brands (Princo). Plays DVD-R with no trouble (Pioneer, White Label, Verbatim, FWS, Zero Defex, Data Write). Only a cheap unbranded DVD-R would not work reliably. DVD-RW discs do not work (Pioneer, Verbatim). Software used to write DVDs and CDs is Nero and DVD Decrypter. Written in both ISO and Video_TS/Audio_TS formats. Most SVCDs do work (tested on CD-RW discs), but functionality is very limited. Although playback is fine, picture search (fast forward) results in garbage display. Once playback is resumed the picture is fine again. Multi-region can only be obtained by hardware mod-chip (eg. Multimod by Techtronics). Once fitted though the player performs flawlessly.

N/A No rating Comments: I have now tested the following brands of CD-RW and have come to the following conclussion: Verbatim (Datalifeplus) Hi-Speed CD-RW 8x-10x with Serl coating. Burned as standard VCD: Works perfect! Mr. Platinum 80min CD-RW: Does not work! Memorex High Speed CD-RW 700mb 12x: Works Perfectly! (Thats all I can tell you about brands for now) Perhaps..this otherwise crummy DVD will be of some use!

N/A 4 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: One of the first DVD players. Could verify of playing MPEG 1 (VCD) files on DVD+R (after remuxing automatically by WinOnCD 6). No chance of using DVD+RW. ATTENTION: hadn't chance to try bitsetting tool (very new 4x DVD Burner isn't supported yet). ---- Some (very cheap) SILVER CD-R's do work (with drops sometimes). I could use some Koch and Tevion CD-R's in this player (VCD, Audio CD). ---- Most CD-RW's do work without problems. ---- I was very astonished, seeing one SVCD running on this player. Don't know why it worked (i didn't make it), possibly the process of creation of a SVCD is very critical. I just know it worked. The Time Display showed wrong (it showed twice of the real value).

N/A 8 of 10 Comments: Works fine with all CD-RW's ive thrown at it. cant get any CD-R's to work tho Vcd's play perfectly no matter what they are burned/authored with, Svcd's a picky about what they are authored and burned with tho. handles vcd and svcd chapters perfectly. plays DVD-R and DVD silvers fine havent had a chance to check svcd audio tracks or subtitles yet tho.

N/A No rating Comments: Absolutely no luck with CD-Rs (tried about everything), extremly limited luck with CD-RW (got it to recognize one SVCD CD-RW once, but didn't play properly. Never got it to recognize the same disc again. Go figure). Tried several brands of CD-R and CD-RW, with different CD writers. Apparently, the unit is equipped with a extremly picky single-beam pickup (it's definitvly a problem of reading the disk, not a mastering issue).
