CVD? $? 30 days 10 of 10 Comments: Worked for a month for me like a charm. Picture quality's superb (used Fujifilm DVD+R and Memorex CD-R media ). The only issue I have is that it won't show subtitles on SVCD, had to hack it to play SVCD at all, but it's not advertised to do so and it doesn't bother me much.

CVD? $? 21 days No rating Comments: I figured it out. Once you see "No Disc" displayed, press the pause button, then press 1472.

CVD? $? 21 days No rating Comments: I have this device with a June 2004 date on the back. the VCD hack does not work for me. When I power on the device and select 1472, nothing happens. Tray is empty. Any suggestions? When should I hit 1472?

CVD? $? 21 days 9 of 10 Comments: I give this a high rating for picture quality that is nice and smooth. I would have gotten a 10 if wasn't for the fact that you have to edit the eeprom to get it to play vcd and svcd but at least it can be enabled. This is how you do that. Turn the dvd player on without a disk in the player. With the remote enter 1472,This should bring the eeprom screen up. There should be two rows of numbers. 55 53 00 45 12 05 64 00 00 00 C0 40 20 00 03 48 At this point we are only dealing with the top row. We need to change number 45 to 47 and 64 to 74. With the remote use the right arrow button to the little cursor and then the up or down to change the number. To turn off the macrovison that I don't know

MP3 WMA CVD? $100 7 days 6 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Disappointed it didn't play any of my VCDs, but it doesn't advertise too. Was a graduation gift, so hey...no $ out of me. Played all of my movies burned on memorex dvd+r and dvd-r ... only played some of my fuji DVD+Rs. DVDs look good and plays smooth. If your looking for a DVD-VHS combo that does that well and not much else...look into this one. If not, stay away.
