CVD? $50 360 days 10 of 10 Comments: Never fails, plays my DVD-R and DVD+R discs. Will play VCD's forever after performing hack just once. Has component Video out and Coaxial/Optical audio out. Much better than the panasonic and Sony players I've owned in the past. Folks need not overlook Zenith, there still making good products.

CVD? $50 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename Comments: Got this DVD/VHS combo as a player for my room. It was an open-box item (missing remote) but cost $20 less. Bought a new TV to go with it. Has component video outs (the new tv has it too) however I havent tried them out as I only have three cables, and component video needs 5 (3 video, 2 audio) to work properly. Unfortunatly, it doesnt play VCDs without a hack (that requires a remote I DONT have) which is why I only gave it an 8. It records VHS tapes pretty good though. However, widescreen DVDs are played stretched: the picture is stretched to fit the TV screen. I prefer the DVDs played at proper aspect ratio, but all around good player.

CVD? $100 N/A No rating JPG/JPEG MPEGISO Comments: Using the VCD hack allows me to play VCD 2.0 but not 1.0 or SVCD. Also, MPEGISO doesn't seem to work either. That's really the only complaints I have, other than that seems to work great.

MP3 320kbit/s WMA CVD? $125 N/A 10 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: This DVD-VHS player is flawless. Plays DVD-R (Ritek, Princo) and DVD+RW, I haven't tried oher formats. VCD works with the listed hack and only need to do it once. Has progressive scan with component out. Also has a copy button for DVD to VHS.

MP3 WMA CVD? $125 N/A 10 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 Comments: Excellent unit and on-sale at Best Buy for $130. One of the few DVD/VCR units that allows copy of DVD to VCR (non-macrovision). This is working great for me to copy DVD-R videos to VHS for clients that need a VHS tape. Burning discs in iMac Superdrive unit.

It has played my DVD-R TDK2x, DVD-R Princo2x, DVD+RW DVDOn 2.3x with out any problems. Cost $149 at Best buy. - Dolby and DTS pass-through, has 3D-surround - A slick copy feature to copy DVD(non-copyprotected) to VHS with a "copy" button - Can play VCD if you enable the hack, not sure about SVCD. - Plays MP3, WMA, JPEGS. - Has plenty of in/out jacks including component out - Has progressive scan output - VHS works good. Remote is not a multi-unit control.
