CVD? $? over 1 year No rating Comments: My Dad has this Player. I sent him to DVD-R disks. One had a single movie on it recorded in SP mode (2hrs) and he had not problem viewing it. The other disk was recorded on EP mode (4 hrs) and he had problems viewing it. This disk also had two movies/titles on it. In reality it was a football game first title was 1st half of game and the second title was the second half. Each title had Chapters created. The disk was finialized.

CVD? $? over 1 year 8 of 10 Comments: mine has played dvd-r and dvd+r dual layer no problems what so ever. used tdk dvd-r 16x and memorex dvd+r dl 2.4x both played without a hitch.

CVD? $? over 1 year 8 of 10 Comments: Nice unit, but has a MAJOR drawback that it won't play DVD-R disc's. To be fair, the specs don't claim that it does. I wanted to start porting my old VHS home movies to DVD, bought a media home computer to do that. But can't play on this unit. Darn.

CVD? $? over 1 year 8 of 10 Comments: Despite some of the other reviews, I have had no trouble playing both DVD+R and DVD-R that I have burned using a plextor 716a. I also tried a dual layer DVD+r that I burned and it also worked fine. I have had this player almost 2 years and have had no trouble with it.

CVD? $? 360 days 1 of 10 Comments: Customer could not play 3 different DVD+R discs on this model. ARITA 4X (Riteck) DVDs were burned on a Liteon LVW 5005. Discs played fine on 7 other DVD players. Have sold a hundred other of the same DVDs burned on the same burner without a single problem.

CVD? $175 N/A 3 of 10 Comments: The VCD hack works well. The problem I have is that this unit doesn't read DVD-Rs. I tried two of them, one written with DVDXcopy and the other written with Nero burn. Two different people burned these and they reported to me they worked on their home DVD players.

CVD? $175 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: I bought this player for my girlfriend for a recent gift and wandering if there is a macrovision hack out there at all. I noticed the hack for this player and a couple of go-video players are almost identical is that true with macrovision and region free. I figure this to be one of the best players out there, supports just about everything so far but have not tested a svcd yet on it but hoping a few tricks might work.

N/A No rating Comments: I applied the xbv243 hack to be able to able to view VCDs. The hack appears to work since I can now view VCDs. However, there are some indications that since applying the hack, certain special features of regular DVDs do not work properly (menus sometimes refuse to display or are displayed invisibly) and there is no documented way of removing the hack to tell whether or not the hack is actually causing the problem.

CVD? $175 N/A 8 of 10 MP3 long filename Comments: Great unit. Really researched this site as well as others and found out this is the only combo unit to consider if you wish to play VCDs and MP3s. After aplying the VCD hack I was able to successfully play my VCDs of TAKEN that were written on generic CD-RWs. I'm hoping since Circuit City had these on sale before Christmas we will get a lot more input on these units maybe even a macrovision hack. Did I mention the output options? You can hook this baby up any way you want, even multiple ways. I have mine hooked up so that video is s-video and the dvd audio goes to the stereo unit or if you dont wish to push 3 buttons to get the best video and sound it is also hooked up to play through the coax antenna jacks. The only negative thing is short file names on MP3 and no random on the same.

Once done, VCD support and PBC option will be enabled. Info is available in "DVD Hack" section. - When cDVD/miniDVD is used, the on-screen file manager or MP3 file manager is enabled. Cannot play the video manually at all.

You simply put the VCD or DVD and a blank tape and press COPY and the copy as begin.....
