MP3 WMA CVD? $? over 1 year 6 of 10 DVD-WMA MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX Comments: Good DVD player, plays DVD's with excellent quality. Must use hack to play VCDs, does not play SVCDs at all. Have played a few DVD-R burned DVDs on it, and it plays them. However, it stutters every 30 seconds or so. So yes, it plays them, but with pretty bad quality.

MP3 VBR WMA CVD? $150 N/A 8 of 10 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: Purchased in 2/2002. Has decent on unit controls so you can still operate a dvd w/o the remote. Lack of SVCD support disappointing, but was bought before I realized I needed it. Video output is good quality from DVD. Audio is good, but noise floor can be noticeable, especially playing MP3s. MP3 playback/playlist/display features very limited, almost not useful, esp. if you need id3 support. Error correction seems to be a problem for this unit on some DVDs, on on dvd I reverted to the laptop and intervideo windvd to get through the errors. Buy this for basic dvd features and on unit buttons, buy something else for better S/W features and more format support.

N/A 7 of 10 Comments: It play standard DVD`s very good, quasi excellent. mp3 too, also vcd`s after code set.. i got a apex 1200 for svcd, but this Zenith 2251 is better for DVD`s..

N/A 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX Comments: We got this Player free from Burger King. The price is unknown, although I suspect it's a lower end range. Cd-r's it has accepted included a four year old Memorex, Verbatim Data-Life Plus, Maxell, Mr. Data, Pine and Sylvania. Cd-Rw's tested were old 4x Memorex and 2x Verbatim. They seemed fully functional if not a bit slow on initial detection. The Mp3, playback is menu driven but only the first eleven characters are displayed. All files tested were constant bit rate at 128kbs. It should be noted that the player only reconzes the first session of any disc. Mp3's were tested on both mode 1 and mode 2 CD-R's. It is recommended to disable the player's simulated surrond feature when listening to mp3's as it reveals many artifacts present in the poor quality of 128kbs files. VCD playback is disabled from the factory but using the remote control codes for many similar Zenith models it can be enabled. The Memorex CD-RW and Mr. Data CD-R were tested with success. As of yet there has been no luck getting an SVCD to work. VCD menus were not tested and or not found. It should be noted that, the VCD's were made using Nero Burning ROM and a 15 second mpeg. As well as VCD enabling, one could also change the region with remote control codes similar to other Zenith models. Of course the regions available are 0-7. I haven't any foreign dvd's to test however as an experiment: after setting the player to region 2 all previous discs were rejected, therefore it is believed that region 0 certainly will function with other regioned discs. All said, I am very satisfied with this player despite the stiff buttons on the remote control. The price of free helped me come to this conclusion.
