CVD? $125 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename DivX DVD-RAM Comments: Ha this player for about 2 Years. Plays almost anything, except Jpeg burned on Cd-r/w and Divx/Xvid. Had one problem with sound, but fixed by reseller. Not tested DVD+RW. Good sound and picture considering the price.

MP3 CBR WMA CVD $90 N/A 7 of 10 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX MPEGISO Comments: Play (S)VCD perfectly, no problems with any type of CD-R or CD-RW. Plays DVD+R but I get an "No Disc" when trying DVD+RW. Region hack works great. I have this player for over two years and only downside so far is the fact that it doesn't support DVD+RW. SVCD menus (burned with Nero) works great.

No difference from my CD player.. :) MP3 much better than via the computer.. :) It doesnt support for long filename, :-( Have tested JPG on datadisc, doesnt work :-(

N/A 4 of 10 Comments: The machine broke down 4 times and this my 3rd player. In 5 months time it is again away for repair. If you play DVD's longer then 1 1/2 hour the player comes into problems (it does not read the dvd continiously, gaps in time from 5 to 10 seconds occur random and frequently)

N/A 6 of 10 Comments: For the price it's ok for DVD. For audio CD this machine is very very bad. MP3 is a nice extra, but does not support id3 tags or long filenames. The drive had a lot of problems with rented (dirty, as in soiled, not meaning the content...) DVD's and de drive itself eventually broke down. I replaced it with a toshiba regionfree ide dvdrom drive and now it works better than before, even with dirty dvd's. The drive does not fit exactly in the bay, so I have it hanging out on the IDE cable. So, all in al an ok drive for regionfree (also works with rce dvd's) playing, althoug it is a pity it does have macrovision protection.

N/A 6 of 10 Comments: Audio quality substandard: not much high even when playing a high-quality audio disc through a good quality stereo. Supposedly very cheap analogue components and/or DAC used. No shuffle/random play. No OSD for audio CDs. User interface slow and not intuitive. Especially hard to navigate with MP3 with TV off. MP3 playback sometimes hicks. MP3 OSD uses file names and only shows a few characters per song, typically the file names start with the artist so all look the same... My dad discovered a bug in the MP3 OSD. Press "8" on a 7-item list. The player places the cursos then on an empty place and starts playing the 1st song from the next list if it exists. Documentation is bad. Eric Verlind

N/A 7 of 10 Comments: Bought it for mp3. Recognized all my existing cds also high bitrates. All of the cds are burned in one session. Many mp3 files were taken from internet. Sound is quiet OK. (128 or lower also sucks on PC) Only problems with a very few files where it automatically jumps to the next or skips a part of it. Don't know whether it is caused by variable bitrate. After 4 weeks, I'm still satisfied. Nice that it also plays DVD and VCD. Tested it and plays it without problems. Uses SCART to display information on screen. Directory structure for MP3 is shown. Only 8 characters of mp3 file name is shown. Disadvantages: - No random play through songs - No one button option to change to next directory (need multiple keys and TV to see what you're doing.) - Display only shows one digit for directory and two for the songs

CVD? $225 N/A No rating miniDVD/cDVD Comments: This is the same player as the Mustek DVD V300 Only problem: The VCD/SVCD doesn't work with only one short file (1 minute) on it.

Major issue is the fact that it does not properly recognize SHORT VCD's and SVCD's... anything long works, but try a 3 minute sample and you're out in the blue...
