Just wanted to add the note here about MP3 discs. This player supports MP3's, long filenames, track / artist title information on both the tv and front panel display. Output is analog-only, i.e. the optical cable to AV receiver doesn't carry MP3 data for some reason. You have to hook up the RCA jacks to hear MP3 discs. This is a great machine. Has played everything I've thrown at it so far.

Although I did not test DVD+R playback, I'm confident it will work just fine, as it is the format the spec's say is supported. DVD-R & DVD-RW are not listed, but play just fine. DVD video through composite is mediocre at best. DVD video through S-VHS seems about the same as my older Pioneer DVL-909. I have not tested component video or progressive. Audio cd playing sounds very good using decoder in the player, and it supports CD-Text display both on the player face and through the TV. Disc changes seem reasonably smooth and fast enough. Chapter changes seem to hesitate when initiated via the remote.
