However it doesn't play most of my old dvd-r data/mp3 ,family video + back up movies written to cheap media. I recommend 1x writting speeds on good quality dvd-r only. I have 2 other yamada dvd players which play everything no problem [different chipset] these players have 4x zoom in/out 16x search etc this machine only has 8x search on dvd movies and 1x zoom in. Hopefully the next firmware upgrade will fix it.

N/A No rating Comments: I don't know if this is of interest to anyone in the US, but I have the ability to get some of these players if I can get 7 people to commit for $300 (includes shipping). If you think you'd be interested, email me at bjohnson72745@hotmail.com and if we can get a group together, I'll get some shipped over. If you've tried to get one of these shipped from the UK, you've discovered as I have that it's not possible to get retailers to ship these to you. Fortunately, I have someone in the UK that will ship them, and as a group, so the shipping price is lower than what you would have to pay (about $65 per player). Shipping time is estimated at about 3 weeks.

N/A 10 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX Comments: Had my Yamada 6100 for a couple of weeks to replace the TV-out on the pc and to stop all that TEDIOUS conversion business (oh how the pc drone can drive you insane when watching a movie...............) and I think this player is BRILLIANT. Plays all my divx's and xvids faultlessly. If your fed up with your TV-Out and/or transcoding to another format is REALLY starting to get on your nerves then get this player NOW. The Remote control is a bit tacky but so what? Oh and if the cd/dvd drawer jambs shut (my four year old lad and three year old daughter 'stuck' a Digimon movie in after hunting through a pile of about 20 plain discs as they cant read yet) just shake the machine to re-seat the CD/DVD! If its toddler proof its got to be good! For £79.99inc what are you waiting for?

Nice search fearue for mpeg4 divx/xvid etc where the FF upto x16 works like on a normal DVd rather than the jump forward 2 minutes like other Mpeg4 player like the Liteon 2001. Drive is quiet (unlike the Liteon!) On screen stuff is very bland, the built is ok, remote passable but not great. The Kiss 1000 box has better build, remote, search (up to x48!) and MUCH better gui and on screen. I could not decide on which player to get the Yamada 6100, Kiss 1000, or the Liteone 2001. The Kiss is nice except for the naff blue LEDS why it needs 4 I do not know!

I have tried most stuff on this and everything plays without any problems. Several of my backups that i made on cheap white label DVD-R ,which were made for my "LG3520" (which i payed over £250 for), had serious problems even at under 2.5 GB compression!!!! But on this "YAMADA" it plays like a dream. Also it plays DivX files superbly. One point that is a "slight" niggle is when you rewind on a DivX file it can stick on odd occasions. Midiman UK

I have a 110/220 step up transformer and a EU to UK AC adapter. That should get it all working. I sure am going through a lot of trouble for what people seem to think is "the best" :)

MP3 WMA CVD? $150 N/A 10 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX MPEGISO Comments: Played everything so far that I've given it - Read some reports that XviD had some problems so far only 1 Xvid Cd has caused any problems Plays VCD and SVCD without authoring Tried DivX 3.11 4 and 5, XviD, Mpeg 1, Mpeg 2 Some with AC3 Audio and Some wih Mp3 After testing approx 30 movies with only 1 choppy disk, I can finally say I'm more than happy with this player. Problems I've noticed - The player has a tendency to crash if FF and REW is used too much When playing MP3 Disks - The MP3 must be stopped before you can browse to another Mp3 or folder. I was tore between buying this or a Kiss. The aesthetics and price won me over in the end. At the moment I reckon this is the best value DVD/DivX player on the market.

I nested folders to a level of 15 and it had no problems. mpeg1 mepg2 avi and jpeg all on the same data disc played well. Just awaiting a decent menu and chapter system for divx.

Every kind of disk i put in, can't be read unless i open and close the tray 2-4 times from the remote control. I use the latest firmware by yamada. I haven't found any posts for this problem until now. if i hadn't this i would rated that machine with 10 from 10! Nick

Have installed latest firmware upgrade for DVX6100 - 19th December one - supposed to support subtitles But it doesn't (& I have many CD's w subs!!) Followed guide.. selected sub/srt files which register on screen [though with Question Mark beside) - and pressed Angle key on remote to select - then pressed movie file which played - but no subs!! [these CD's show subs fine on my puter) If anyone has ideas, good to know. Otherwise - player still v. new.. seems fine apart from one movie file which did not play sound.

It has played everything I have tried (does not play .OGM streams or .OGG audio). Being able to dump multiple formats on a DVD+R/W and play them on my widescreen TV is great. The remote does look and feel cheap - but I don't agree that the player looks cheap - it looksa lot nicer than the ugly black beasts that are the Kiss players! :p The latest firmware solves a lot of the early issues. Firmware upgrades have gone smoothly and fixed several problems. Zooming a DivX/XviD is limited to 2x, which is way too much to be useful, so widescreen movies can only be played with black bars above/below on a non-widescreen TV.

CVD? $450 N/A No rating DivX MPEGISO Comments: top rating for me 10/10 for this player absoluteley mint plays everything apart from hit and miss with dvd files burnt as data but that is due to the file obtained from the net and practice needed to know when or when not to div x fix the file before burning it to disc what more can yu ask for to pull pucka quality files from the net and burn as data then sit back and enjoy excellent quality films with six burnt as data to a dvd blank.price is excellent value for money at £89 from amazon.com especially with the extras this machine will do i will certainly be buying more of these machines and the comment some made about it looking crap and cheap then i dont think this guy appreciates or knows what it is capable of doing.the other comment about it not playing legit dvd's change the video output setting to rgb instead of s-video.just wish i cfould get the firmware update from the english website instead of the german or russian,double mint player
