Could this be something in the laser? Someone help me please. Thanks.

CVD? $? over 1 year 9 of 10 DivX DVD-RAM Comments: can someone also inform how to get selectable svcd audio tracks? i have several svcds that have two language tracks, but when i use "audio" button it just switches between left/right mono/stereo or something. i notice everyeone else here except 1 other has been able to use different svcd audio tracks. i have even emailed yamada support and they say selectable svcd audio tracks are not supported.... so i am confused. someone please enlighten me! thanks.

Plays Divx and Mpeg files fine... except for some Xvid version (after playing a few seconds I get the message codec not installed .. ???). Sometimes it crashes but works fine again after restart. Overall good image quality but sometimes there are glitches. When I fast forward (FF) sometimes the reader gets confused and I cannot stop the FF unless I power down the player also when I FF sometimes it jumps to a scene much later on the disc. OK quality for the low price but can still use a lot of improvement !!! Latest fimrware is from December 2003 ... upgrades please !!!

CVD? $125 90 days 4 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DivX Comments: Buy this player ONLY as a secondary player for your DivX and Xvid files. For that, the quality (incl. image and sound quality) is adequate. But be warned. Both mechanically and electronically, this DVD player is inferior. Regular DVD's will sometimes not be recognized. Selection of songs/chapters/files is be screwed up. There is no error-correction whatsoever. And finally, this player may occasionally CRASH. For a good allrounder, my choice these days would be a KISS player. Never a Yamada again.

CVD? $125 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX Comments: it was a good player when i got it, sometimes i had problems with DIVX skipping freezing, but i then downloaded the firmware here http://www.umax.de and burned it to a disk and then upgraded...very easy process by the way...now its a great player, plays everything i put in it and the quality is quite good. the only problem is the remote uses same commands that my tv remote does, so volume for instance turns tv off. if they could fix that i would give it a 10.

A few audio sync issues with DivX/Xvid, ect. that played 100% fine on a pc. couple of cheap media DVD's wouldn't read and there seems to be a bit of an issue with data around the middle read of a DVD-R. If the start of the data/movie begins/is burned around the middle data portion on a DVD-R the headers can sometimes not be read correctly. Allthough... it may be a burner and not a reader issue. Haven't tested. Overall not a bad player. DivX players to me are almost ready for prim time. I was a little dissapointed, but not much. If you are looking to try out a DivX player it's pretty good one to get your feet wet with. GET THE LATEST FIRMWARE 19-12-03

I've tried with orange Ritek G04 dvd-r. U must own a primary dvd player!!

The smart navigator is easy and friendly. I have only problem, even with the latest firmware, I can't read multiple SVCD audio tracks.

Newest firmware at http://www.umax.de/WebNew/index.htm will support swedish subs (ÅÄÖ) too, maybe danish/norwegian too. Jpg support is great now. Oh, and when you use subs with the new firmware you have to select the sub and press "angle" and then select the movie. Great, multiple subs! In sweden it costs 300 Euro!? Before the firmware upgrade it was a niner, now it's a 10 !!

I didn't try higher bitrate. DIVX runs perfectly. Photo jpg have a black boarder surounding. Don't know how to avoid it. The drawer runs smoothly. Good design. Only bad point : the remote. Paid 127 € I'm very very satisfied.

CVD? $150 N/A 9 of 10 DVD-MP3 DivX Comments: A M A Z I N G ! Just got it, couldn't wait to post a little review. I burned a DVD+R with several divx-movies (each in a separate folder) and subtitles and what I saw were good quality films! Very easy to switch between the film through the menu. I only could't manage to have the player show the subs so far (it seems that they need to be shorter than 19 characters, mine were longer) or maybe they only play from cd? Anyway, I am amazed of all the formats you can put in this player. A had ripped a DVD-9 movie and burned it on a single DVD+R. It didn't play on my former, and on the Samsung DVD S224 of a friend of mine there were no subs, but it plays as the original on the YAMADA DVX6000. (It is only a little slower starting, I think because I ripped the DVD and have not burned the pre-movie and other subs) I have used Fuji DVD+R, BENQ-CD-R and That's Write!-CD-R's Even updating with the new firmware was easy!
