CVD? $? 21 days 1 of 10 Comments: I have had FOUR of these now and all played for a few weeks and then "No Disc" and "Disc Error". It seems poor quality optical mechanisms are the culprit as many people are experiencing the same thing. The good news though is that at the moment UMAX (the manufacturer) are still regarding ALL mx105's as "Warranty Status Green" which means you can send them back to UMAX for repair regardless of the purchase date.

CVD? $50 30 days 3 of 10 DivX XviD Comments: not really worth the buy even though it plays divx. if u have multiple chapters, or folders with divx files in a dvd, the audio goes out of sync even with the firmware 2.0. remote is terrible

CVD? $40 21 days 3 of 10 DVD-MP3 DivX XviD Comments: Just to let you know this Yamada MX105 does play all format discs that I have. BUT I purchased it so I could play my huge collection of MP3 DVD'S the first player refused to read all discs after 7 days sent back to GAMELOADED.CO.UK and they sent a second player this will only play my MP3 DVD'S FOR 5-6 MINS then it skips tracks or parts of the songs. phoned them and the company has gone BUST. My kids SHINCO portable DVD player for the cars will play all DIVX,AVI XVID MP3DVD ( LONG FILE NAME AND JPEG ALONG WITH THE ALBUM ) So to end in this case cheap that plays all may not be so good. going to get the PIONEER DV574A, took my discs into Richersounds in GLASGOW and it plays them all.

WMA CVD? $60 30 days 1 of 10 DivX XviD Comments: played great for 3 weeks after firmware v2 update. then stopped reading discs. replacement from umax locked up after 10 secs on divx, firmware update has fixed lockups but player reports unsupported audio on divx discs that played on original player and sync is bad. it will cost you approx £8.00 to send player to umax for repair/replacement.dont buy . if you want a cheap divx player in the uk. go to asda £29.99 or lidl £19.99

CVD? $60 90 days 6 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX XviD MPEGISO Comments: Positives: - no problem with XVid, DivX - no problem with subtitle (srt) Negatives: - subtitle font too small (cannot change it) - subtitle color is white without border, when the picture is bright it is hard to read the sub (after firmware update Apr 2005, before that the sub is with blue background) - I use DVD+R from Hyundai, it works very badly. The picture becames cubes every 5 minutes (both avi and dvd movie format). I have burned a few discs and all with the same result. I have no problem reading this disk from the computer. - remote control has a weak IR (or may be weak receiver). You should place the remote control almost in a straight line with the player. I hope the manufacturer would update the firmware so that it goes with bigger letter and more readable letters for the subtitles. I do mind about reading Hyundai's DVD+R badly. For $60, should have had a nice working player that has no reading problems.

CVD? $? 30 days No rating JPG/JPEG DivX XviD Comments: Played everything, avi's skipped abit but once firmware updated they were fine, this did not correct the problem with vcd's & dvdr's it was freezing for a split second on every chapter in a film and then the voice was out of sync, had to burn discs without chapters to correct this. 2 days after doing the update the machine was displaying no disc on the player and disc err on the tv, have since sent it back to pixmania,(which cost me £26.00) they have told me it could be upto a month before they let me know what was wrong...I have 2 yamada 5520's and they are still working perfect after a year.
