Comments:
In terms of features, this is a great player (DVD, DivX + subtitles, MP3, USB 2.0, Card-reader). I have found that all this works just fine, though there are room for improvement (ex. it asks you for which subtitle even though there are a subtitle with exactly same name as avi file - which is kind of annoying that you have to select).
All in all, I was looking forward to owning this player....but then I inserted a DVD-R (a backup of a cartoon DVD) and I noticed that there where a lot of jumping and decoding-noise as if the player couldn't read the DVD all right. I took it out and noticed that it wasn't really very scratched or anything. Then I tried it in my other player (a Philips DVP 3010) and it played like a charm without any problems.

So to me, it seems like a very well feature-packed player with a cheap laser-lens, and that made me return it

Comments:
The player gives a very good image quality, but i have found some problems, loading times from disc are a bit slower, from external hd it has an erratic behaviour, sometimes works, some times doesn't, and the worst thing is that the compatibility with the different divx files that i have tried is moderate ... it cannot play files other cheaper players do, the screen keep a loading message and the player has to be turned off to get out of the loop it gets in.

i thought it was a fault of the recordings i have, and changed twice the player, but all behave the same way ...

i hope that usb handling and specially, codecs compatibility get better with new firmware, as the quality of the images deserves it.

Comments:
I think this is the only player with VGA output, all-card reader, USB 2.0 and plays DivX and XVid (does not play MPEG-4 ASF or WMV) .
Everything works as described in the specs. It costs me 100 Swiss francs only (about 80 USD). The only thing that should be improved is the HD loading time.
For 40 GB, loading time is about 20 secs., for 200 GB, more than a minute. I recommend this to movie collectors and downloaders.

Have working with 200Gb FAT32 partition on external drive but it took some effort to achieve this. Will not work with 300GB partition. Result fine although slow to load. Screen saver cutting whilst loading is an annoyance which halts the process. To stop this you need to hit a key on the remote about every 30 seconds.

For those with WinXP if partitioning larger drive note WinXP will not format this with FAT32. You need to create partition with WinXP but do not let it format. Then format partition with program from http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?fat32format.htm

Note the directory listing given by the player lists the files in physical not alphabetical order. For easier navigation use FolderSort from http://www.jetman.dircon.co.uk/software/index.html

Well after all that lot the bottom line is:-
Good Player - Worth the effort.

Plays almost everything, from CD, DVD, Stick, Card or USB HDD. Folders on the HDD is no prob. Have tried a 120 gb 2,5" Samsung without Powersupply just over USB and it works fine. HDD has to be formated with FAT32 as a Primary Partition and has to be Aktiv wich is very important. Without swiching it to aktive the player don´t read the strukture of the HDD.
The player needs about 70 sec. to read my 120 GB and to show the Menue. But after arround 60 sec. the Screensaver starts which causes sometimes Problems. So just push one or twice a button after switching to USB-HDD and your drive will be loaded correctly.

Hope this Helps if someone have the same Problems.
Hopefully they bring out a new Firmware to solve this Problem with the Screensaver or just make it adjustable in timing !
