N/A 8 of 10 Comments: I have heard that the internal unit is made by Panasonic, can anyone else confirm? Also as I understand it, some multi region players aren't allowed to be imported into Australia, but can be modified once in the country. Hence the region 4 printed on the packaging. Regards, Hakko

CVD? $80 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MPEGISO Comments: Wrapped with the compatability (plays anything bar divx) and the remote control region and macrovision hack. Audio sounds tinny, just the vocals all other sound is good ( this could be lack of knowledge as it has more audio settings than you can poke a stick at and I might have it setup wrong, also I'm downmixing to stereo output.) Plays dvd's my dvd rom won't but that is touchy.

CVD? $70 N/A No rating Comments: I tried playing Lord of the Rings and the picture was varying wildly in brightness, contrast and colour. Using the menu hack described elsewhere on this site I was able to switch off macrovision and the problem went away. It also plays a Japanese NTSC DVD on my PAL TV with no specific setting changes. SVCD disks I have made from my own camcorder video look amazing. I will have to try XVCD. It plays MP3's I've made but the player doesn't seem to be able to play all folders on a disk sequentially like my CD walkman can. Amazing value. I only hope it proves to be reasonably reliable! Rob

N/A 8 of 10 Comments: X Logic XLD-901:Paid AU$149 & comes with a 1yr warranty. Plays the following straight out of the box, although marked clearly as a Region 4 player. DVD marked from Region 0,1,4,& ALL. Also VCD, SVCD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CDR, & CD. Surround sound feature, Zoom of 1/4x, 1/3x, 1/2x, 2x, 3x, & 4x, Equalizer Dispaly, Camera Angles (if supported on DVD), Plays PAL & NTSC discs if the TV supports these formats. I think this is a good buy for a second player if you already have a more reputible brand as your more frequently used machine. No telling how much this player will stand up to if constantly being used.

N/A 6 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: I live in Australia and bought my X-Logic player mainly because it was cheap. It was advertised as multi-region, but it displays a Region 4 Logo very clearly on the box. If anyone can clarify this for me, or better yet has a workaround to make it multi-region, it would be much appreciated. Apologies that I couldn't give more detail on this form. I have yet to test everything.

CVD? $70 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: I just bought it about an hour ago from Go-Lo for $AU159 and i like it because i made xvcd's and xsvcd (at low bitrates to fit a movie on one disk) which were running bad on my old panda (shinco 868) and they work fine on this dvd, the only set back is it doesn't have an svideo output but the picture is still good i like the search button which you can use on vcd and svcd (didn't work on svcd with the panda) i like the shuffle mode with mp3's.

N/A No rating Comments: G O, This player is the XLD-901 the "O" is a misprint, so the hack will work on yours, the XLD-901 is set to multi region out of the box but you can use the remote hack to change it to a specific region and turn off macro Scott

N/A No rating Comments: Is this the same as the X-Logic XLD-901 If so. how do we get to the region selection menu? as mine is quoted as being Zone 4 only. and does it also play Divx as some of the other Xlogic models can. Great value at the moment for AU$149.

CVD? $80 N/A 10 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename Comments: A very good player for the price,great picture, a few nice features of this player are- zoom in/out x2,x3,x4. (zoom and pan) while playing movies or looking at jpegs, also with jpegs you have slideshow, thumbnail view, transition effects etc. When playing mp3 you have the choice of normal mode,progam mode(playlist) or file list. The player is region free out of the box, you can also access a hidden menu via remote to switch regions and turn off MV.
