CVD? $? over 1 year 8 of 10 Comments: For some reason the K620 doesn't like DVD-RW that have been recorded more than 1 time with a BenQ drive. Good player though.

It will play patched Pal dvds but u can get it to play pal by doing this, open the tray put the disk in, then when you get NOT NTSC push the t button on the remote then got to 1 second on the first title and then it should play.

CVD? $50 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: This is great for playing dvd +- r / rw have tried so far: verbatim dvd+rw, verbatim dvd-r, verbatim dvd+r, fujifilm dvd-rw, fujifilm dvd+rw all work using clonedvd to shrink and burn, shrinkdvd (then clonedvd to burn), dvd2one and clonedvd to burn, also ripped using dvddecrypt to iso then mount using daemon tools then ripping using dvdshrink/clone/dvd2one, etc. this is a great dvd backup player as it seems to play all formats got it at sam's club for < $50 (bought two actually) sam's club in virginia. hope this helps people out, haven't tried macrovision disable/region hack but you can easily do this with a anydvd or region-free or dvd decrypter and then burn your backup. thanks

N/A 10 of 10 Comments: I highlay recommend this dvd player. I got mine at sam's club for $69. For the money, this is a great little dvd player.

At first I was disappointed because of the audio sync problem on SVCDs; after reading about the "Align" button trick I felt better...however my remote does not have an "Align" button. Turns out you must use the "Angle" button (and follow the same steps, select Audio1 then 2 then back to 1). Other than that it works great! Note this is replacing a magnavox I purchased a year ago that now does not play SVCDs completely (they become very pixelated about half way through the movie; almost like a "heating up problem" or something).

N/A 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX MPEGISO Comments: Contrary to what others have posted here, this model DOES NOT play raw mpeg 1 & 2 files. It returns a "Disc Error" message if you try. This was with both cd-r and dvd-r discs. It's pretty much the exact same player as the SD-2900 (it even has the same manual). Like the 2900, it has great video output, and supports dvd-r's. It also plays back mp3's and jpg's, though it's mp3 playback is very annoying (doesn't seem to display the song titles at all, just lets you cycle through them). A great basic player. But little more.

N/A 7 of 10 Comments: I bought one of these for my girlfriend. I didn't expect it to do anything but be a cheap player. It plays svcd but you do have to follow the steps listed elsewhere to get the sound to sync up. I was happy to find out that it plays DVD+R. This is with Verbatim +Rs and a TDK burner making the disks.

MP3 VBR WMA VBR CVD? $70 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX MPEGISO Comments: This player was pretty good in my expirence. I got it at costco for $70 today and I pretty much love it. It plays Mp3s in VBR/CBR perfectly (WMAs too). It plays VCD's (PAL AND NTSC) perfectly (without that stupid b&w jumpy stuff on PAL movies). SVCD's play nearly perfect also (PAL/NTSC), but I have a problem with the audio/video at first NOT BEING in SYNC in all SVCD's. To get around this, just press the "Align" button on your remote, select AUDIO 2, then go back to AUDIO 1. Its kind of a hassle, but it works after that. Over all a great player and is even small too! (easy to take around). For $70, this is worth it!

CVD? $70 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG MPEGISO Comments: GREAT player...threw every kind of SVCD (1.0) I could throw at it and VCD (1.0 and 2.0)...even plain MPEG2 worked. Great picture. SVCD and VCD played skip free, however, they do NOT have smooth fwd/rew. Very choppy even in 2x fwd/rew. But it supports smooth scanning fwd/rev up to 8x for DVD and that worked okay. Remote is your typical cluttered mass of buttons. They claim it is intuitive, but really not...Better than a Mintek remote from the standpoint of having Rew/Fwd buttons near the play/skip buttons...but hard to read int he dark (Mintek has silver "plate" to increase contrast...great idea) Eventually returnd this because the Mintek 1600 could do everything it could do at $20 less, and offered smooth fwd/rew for VCD/SVCD and was simply cheaper. But wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Toshiba to anyone. D
