CVD? $80 150 days 1 of 10 DivX XviD Comments: Plays Most Retail dvd's ok, but major flaw in playing dvd's created from avi's and some dvd copys. has a problem with freezing frequently, both audio and video. sometimes lock's up and can not recover at all, even hitting the players power button, must unplug it to restart it. would not recommend this player.

MP3? WMA? CVD? $? 120 days 4 of 10 DivX XviD DVD-RAM Comments: I bought this player thinking it will help improve my dvd's but they looked the same. Also will not play all media types. Used a high Quality TDK for my movies and mosaic tile appear quit often but when I play the same disc on my Philips DVD it plays extremely well. I have always had problems with Toshiba brand players from day 1. Philips I think is the best because it plays everything

CVD? $90 30 days 7 of 10 DivX XviD Comments: The player provides a very nice picture and plays a wide format of discs and content. Of all the players at the store this one did support the largest number of formats. The upconverting does improve the picture quality, however DVDs already look good on most HD tvs that I would say it is not absolutely required to have an upconverting player. I have it hooked to my LCD TV using the HDMI cable. The remote must be pointed DIRECTLY at the unit, or it does not work. I had to have the first unit replaced after 1 week of use. It just displayed "loading" on the front of the unit. The replacement unit malfunctioned once for a few minutes (would not play any disc), but has worked correctly since. If you purchase this player, I recommend a service plan to go with it. If the replacement malfunctions again, I intend to return it altogether and purchase a different player.

CVD? $60 1 days 8 of 10 DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename DivX XviD Comments: Gave it a 8 only becuase they lied about having an Optical out. NO OPTICAL audio, only that damn, cheap single coax out. They saved .26c on each unit I guess. Customer service is really good, btw.
